Just been told we might be cooking xmas dinner at home after all
Are Aldi still have them, and anyone know what the 3 birds are (just out of interest)0 -
duck, turkey & stuffing wrapped in Chicken.
They really do look lush. They had a freezer full on thursday pm at my local store. Well worth a trip down there I reckon.0 -
I was expecting this to be about something completely different...0

Has anyone tried the Aldi Three Bird Roast? I see this thread is from last Christmas - those who had it last year what was it like?
And Quote, I'm with you there! When my mum told me to research a 'three bird roast' on the internet I was horrified!:rotfl:

Phil Vickery was on tv, he did a glaze for the 3 bird roast & it was in the aldi leaflet, but I cant find it. Think it was honey garlic & possibly red wine vinegar & marmalade>? Ring any bells?:xmastree:0

M&S do it (they do a three & a four bird roast).
We are still toying with the idea.
Not sure whether to get a boned breast or a Ballontine.0 -

I Had mine last year from Fordhall Farm it was excellent, Iv ordered one again, it is a free range Goose, chicken and a pheasant from the local Shropshire game butcher, with apple and apricot stuffing and sausage meat mmmm.
I definatly recommend them, and reasonably priced compared to the supermarkets

ps i definatly wouldn't recommend the cheap ones from Aldi (who knows how the animals were reared or where in the world they were sourced)0 -
Our local Aldi hasn't been able to get hold of their 2.5kg turkey crowns with a cranberry & apricot stuffing £12.99 for well over a week, manager says there's none in warehouse so we considered a 3 bird roast. Went back for one & they'd all gone too.
Ended up buying a 2kg Iceland turkey crown with a turkey, sage & onion stuffing £12 (Why just a sage & onion (yes, I know, likely more people would want that than something fancier but IT'S CHRISTMAS !!)
Iceland has some great offers & ours certainly had lots of turkey joints in various sizes.
We bought this one.0 -
I got 2 of the Aldi 3 bird roasts yesterday for me and my sister. I didn't realise there was a choice of the stuffing and I went for the regular Sage and Onion. They had loads though still in the freezer.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
