For now MCOL is showing that the Defence has been received on 04/03/2021 rather than 03/03/2021.
Yes that's correct. Anything filed after 4pm is deemed to have been filed on the next working day.

You won that race. Prepare now for the semi-finals.

Thanks mate. Hopefully you mean that they have accepted to consider the Defence and that it’s too late for CEL to file for a CCJ. I think Redx mentioned that we should watch out for the status to say Defended Claim, but that hasn’t happened yet.

Your Defence is filed. There is no possibility for the Claimant to get a Default Judgment on that basis.

Re-read that list you were following, starting at the line -
    6. After filing your Defence, there is more to do.

It's fine.  Now re-read the NEWBIES thread to understand what happens when and how to fill in the N180 DQ and what that is (please don't ask).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

    THe advice above is key
Your mate ran this past the wire. That cannot happen again
Failing to abide by courts orders can mean you lose. No ifs buts whatever. It would be done
So, keep chercking MCOL to see when they send the DQ out. If you dont, and it gets lost in the post - you lose.

No problem in you getting an understanding , but you should have left the debate until the lull after a defence is submitted successfully , it deflected the thread from its target !!

Read what user jb111 said recently about his appeal being heard this month , possibly do not debate it until the outcome of that appeal is known , which is long before the WS stage and your friends hearing in several months time
Hey pal, have just finished reading through his threads. He's mentioned a couple appeals on claims that were struck out for the extra £60. But that was only because it was struck out rather than a denied claim I think. When you say do not debate "it", do you mean the earlier discussion of abuse of process, or something else?

Thanks Keith. Have gone through those earlier this week and again this afternoon. Just waiting for my friend to receive the DQ. Will check up with him every couple days to see if he's received it yet or if there is an update on the MCOL website.

Thank you Coupon-mad. Just reread the Newbies thread today. Haven't actually read the part about how to fill the DQ but will have a look tonight and familiarise myself with it.

Absolutely correct. My mistake. My use of guys didn't mean strictly males but rather another way of saying you all. Apologies.

I hear you loud and clear Nosferatu. It won't happen again. Thanks, will keep following up with my friend regarding the DQ.

By the way, my friend has received an email this afternoon from CCBCAQ saying the following:

"Thank you for your email and for re-sending the defence as one pdf it is appreciated and makes the process so much easier.
The defence has been processed and the court awaits the Claimant's reply in due course."

Should this email be responded to or should it be taken as acknowledgement from CCBCAQ that needs no response?

Thanks mate, as it was the first time I'm helping someone through this process I didn't want to advise my friend to either respond or not respond in case there was a negative impact based on my suggestion.  Thanks again.
