    I know it is too late for the OP now, but we always ask for a small piece of any carpet we purchase to take with us (maybe 10cmX5cm) so that we can compare when they bring the carpet out.
    I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!

    Doesn't have to be a lighting change, remember arguments over whether the dress was blue or white and the mint green or grey/pink (if memory serves) trainers. 

    But fwiw, I don't think the lighting varied as much to change the colour that much. I think it's a different carpet, perhaps with confusion over what OP wanted which is why they're saying it's the right one. 

     I've seen some whopper colour changes though. Colours that are lovely in natural or bright light but putrid when a flash is used in low light conditions.
