I imagine this will be due to the difference in lighting. I actually prefer the one on the right!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

It isn't the lighting. It's a completely different colour altogether. It's very pale grey and even has a blue tinge to it. I ordered a mid brown carpet. I can't afford to redecorate. I'm not a well off person, far from it. I had to really save up for it and go without. It is not what I ordered.
Is there anything i can do?

Not without going back to shop and comparing what you chose with what you got.

I can't take it back. I have no transport and there are no small pieces of it. I did ask for the pieces that would have been cut off, they said they'd bring any left over, but they didn't bring them. I don't even know if the one I ordered, the offcut roll, is still there.
  • If you can't take it back and don't want to go to the shop then no, there's nothing you can do.  To get the resolution you want you're going to have to do one of those things.
  • I cannot take a 4x4 m heavy carpet on a bus and I cannot go to the shop because it is closed, and view carpets by appointment only

The carpet I ordered is on the left, I believe the one that was delivered is on the right (same price)

I do think it's likely to be the light - we have a similar carpet and it looks like all of the photos, at different times of the day and in different parts of the house.

However, to prove it one way or the other, could you go back and ask for a small piece of the one you chose, then take that home and compare it to what you received?  You could ask them to post it to you, but I would want to see them take it from the roll myself (or at least show me that an offcut they're sending is the same as the roll), for absolute certainty.
  • The problem is, they are all offcuts. The offcut was made into a rug. I asked for the surplus pieces from the offcut, which would have been useful as I know now, but they didn't bring it with them.
When I chose the offcut the person dealing with it seemed distracted and I noticed there were other offcuts the same price in the same row and I remember pointing the one I wanted  out more than twice. I thought it a bit strange that no writing or sticker was put on the bone I had chosen. They also changed the delivery date twice, said they were really busy, I said that's OK, but looking back i wonder about that as well
I just have a feeling that they will not admit the mistake. Whatever I do

    *one I had chosen
  • I can't believe anyone is claiming it's just the lighting. It's clearly a different carpet, the pattern and style of tread are different. Opticians are still open during lockdown.
