Wrong Colour Carpet Delivered

I ordered a carpet (mid brown/grey) and believe the one that has been delivered is not the same carpet. It appears to be a completely different colour (light grey)
I mentioned this as it was being delivered, then within an hour contacted the company by phone, and then sent an email with an attached photo. The company deny it is a different carpet. I'm not sure how to proceed or if to take it further

How did you place the order (online, in store)? Is there an identifier on the back (colour, batch etc.), has the carpet been fitted or is it just the roll (or cut roll)?0

Hi Matt
The carpet is a large rug made from an off cut. You choose the off cut and they make the rug then deliver. It's a small business. I saw the roll in the shop briefly and took some photos.
I wasn't sure about whether I would be allowed in the shop, but they said it would be OK for five minutes with social distancing, masks etc and it seemed OK to do this. There is no identifier of what type of carpet it is.
I've used the service before and was pleased last time but this time I don't think it's the carpet I chose0 -
Did you notice what sort of lighting they had in the store? as different types of light can make quite a big difference as to how colours appear.
Fluorescent or tungsten lighting is quite common in shops and the colour temperature of these is often very different to daylight or average household lighting.2 -
I assume the left image is a photo taken in the shop of which carpet was to be used ... what are the other 3 images? (The 2nd image looks like it could be a close-up of the 1st). Are the right-two images normal and close-up of what you actually received?
Prompted by the reply above - did you use a flash when taking any of these images?Jenni x0 -
Thanks for all the replies
The shop is a small warehouse type building and not much natural light
I took all the photos with the same camera (samsung phone) . No flash for any of the photos
The attached photo is a collage. The 2 on the left were taken in the shop. The 2 on the right in my house. I had thought it might be my mistake but the difference in colour seems more than that. The carpet they delivered is very pale and very grey and there is no way I would have chosen a pale grey carpet. I do not like grey decor at all.
There were other carpet rolls near the one I chose and at a similar price. I am about 90% sure it is not the carpet I ordered.0 -
Could you go back for a look and check if your original still there?0

I would have to make an appointment to go back and suspect they might know what I was doing, even if I sent someone else. It isn't possible to see the offcut rolls from the street.

It will almost certainly be the lighting...we bought a grey car getting towards dusk and when we woke up the next day it was a very light brown!1
