Dishwasher ... upper cutlery tray

  • I have a Beko with both a cutlery basket and a top tray.  I use the top tray for all of my cooking utensils, spatulas and the like that are too long to stand up in the cutlery basket (where I put all my cutlery).  It saves me taking up space on my top rack and works very well.
Do you not find yourself threading these through mug handles to ensure they don't slip through the net and damage the rotor blade?
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.
  • Everyone saying the top cutlery tray is easier to unload has never unloaded a dishwasher packed by my husband  :D

You let your husband load a dishwasher?

I am firmly of the opinion that someone else doing it badly is better than me having to do it.

Except when it comes to a cup of tea.

My 20-30 year-old Miele had a top cutlery tray; when it broke last year, I thought about getting it repaired but instead I bought another Miele with a cutlery tray.

We have an upper cutlery tray and it is brilliant actually, much easier than the lower basket on our old dishwasher. it's so much easier to arrange the cutlery in types. On our model the upper tray can be removed and the traditional basket it came with can be be used instead.

To the people saying that they prefer a tray, how big are your dinner plates?  Some of ours are 30cm and they only fit on either  side and that is with a basket.  If we had a tray, I don't think they would fit.  We mainly use 27cm plates and they would probably fit, but I need to use a couple of the 30cm plates as my husband is disabled and finds it difficult to cut up food on a smaller plate.

Our dinner plates are 29cm - no problem fitting them in.
