Congratulations on the lump sum and PB substitute spending!!
Popping on to offer some electric car input, I am also lucky to have a company car and changed earlier this year from a hybrid Mitsubishi Outlander to a Kia eNiro. I love love love it, the Outlander was ok but this is nice to drive and extremely economical 250 mile range on a charge that at current rates is about £7.50 and we also had a fast charge fitted which we managed to get 2 grants that covered the majority of the cost. Kias have 7 year warranty as well. Many of the council's are beginning to introduce fees for charging so the free top ups when out and about won't last forever.
Exciting times

Another chunk taken out of the elephant that is our mortgage! Regular repayment, plus regular overpayment. And the first money into my new SIPP, just £100 plus the tax relief per month at the moment, but it's contribution to my retirement plans alongside getting mortgage free, ISA, and TP.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8567

Yay for the lump sum and I love the pb to feel like he’s spending!
I read the electric car bits with interest as it was my plan before covid. Now I think wfh and widespread adoption of video calls means I won’t be driving the work mileage to make it worth it. I’ve gone for electric bike instead! Which isn’t for everyone but a good use of my electric car saving pot as I could never get it over £1500 😂. Hopefully the second hand market in EVs will expand in the next few years making them more accessible for more people.MFW 2021 #76 £5,145

And . . . relax! No more work until Wednesday next week.I'm managing to walk further now, so Mr C and I walked doggo across the fields (only a couple of km) yesterday afternoon to try out our new community hub-pub. He was so excited he kept messaging friends that he was in a pub! I think it will be a regularish haunt - especially as doggo was treated so well - be nice to dogs and children, THAT is how you build a clientelle from scratch.Plans for the weekend are walk dog, start planting out, sit outside and read a book.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8565

Interesting reading about electric cars. We are starting to think about one for next year when we replace ours but live very rural and the charging points are pretty few and far between.I did laugh at DH blowing his money buying PBs.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Dfod, unless you’re in the highlands, I would think the ranges on EVs these days would make it fine to have one rurally - often 200+ miles (and not just Tesla’s). It’s amazing how far things have come in just a few years - my friend had a 1st gen Leaf and couldn’t get to their family holiday cottage in Suffolk from Beds in it! Not the case these days (both more chargers and bigger ranges!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Spent another day planting out, then made pizzas, one each for Mr Chigle and I, four for the freezer, and leftover dough and sauce for DD when she gets in tomorrow. Cooking them from scratch is something I haven't done for ages - I know because the BBE on the yeast was 2017 :#but, it was unopened, and worked just fine.
