Morning All,nice start to the day, my first £25 on PBs (reinvested) - these are mine, I haven't checked whether Mr Chigle won anything yet, his go straight into the bank accountsince he's maxed out his holding.Back to work for me today, but hopefully there's not too much in the diary so I can get on with some prep for next academic year.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8563

themadvix said:Dfod, unless you’re in the highlands, I would think the ranges on EVs these days would make it fine to have one rurally - often 200+ miles (and not just Tesla’s). It’s amazing how far things have come in just a few years - my friend had a 1st gen Leaf and couldn’t get to their family holiday cottage in Suffolk from Beds in it! Not the case these days (both more chargers and bigger ranges!).DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Bit of a PB update, DH also won £25And I've lost a kg, so that's 2kg of my 10kg aim done. I know the current advice is that exercise does very little for weight loss compared to food restriction, but I've been monitoring my intake really carefully for four weeks and the weight only started moving once my daily distance walked got above 3km, my weekly average is 4.7 for this week, so I'm hoping by the end of June my foot will be strong enough to get back to double that and I can keep those kg shifting.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8566

Well done, both on the weight loss and the winnings!
Very impressed you're preparing for next year already! I'm determined to do it earlier this year... 🙄 but not yet - got a couple of non-teaching summer projects I want to get out of the way first!4 -

It's procrastination to avoid other things, in a month's time I'll be wishing I had some marking to do instead of teaching prep!

Worst Survey EVER!Seriously badly written - scale from 1-5: 1=excellent, 5=excellent. One scale had no numbers at all - just circles to tick , it was for Karcher - I expected better.I finished it just to get the 60 points, but my answers are complete nonsense.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8564

Wow, that's awful. I get annoyed by the smallest poorly worded survey (e.g. two statements in one question - what if I don't agree with the first, assumed statement?!) - I don't think I could have stuck with that.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

@themadvix , it drives me mad, I genrally give them a 2.2 for effort, but this one was definitely 'retake the module' - what I described above was the tip of the iceberg - and it was for a £549 product that is less flexible than the £200 one I bought two years ago.

Morning all.Well I out did myself yesterday, 5.4km, so my seven day average is now over 4km
I'm only working Monday next week, so I should be able to keep it up and build on it.
Nectar points are at £68.90, not much movement, but DH's will be creeping up instead. In other financials:- Our mortgage overpayment reserve is now at 9.2k, which is 13 months payments if we ever needed it.
- S&S ISA has grown (albeit small unrealised gains) every month since March, plus I now put in £300/month by dd.
- First £100 in my SIPP - so exicted to see the +£25 added to it even though it's not really there yet.
- Energy company finally sent someone to check why we were getting estimated electricity bills, despite having a smart meter since Feb - the fitter registered the gas, but not the elec, so the meter reference was wrong
, hopefully the new reading will reveal we are in enough credit to justify a refund (which will go into my SIPP).
I still need to sit Mr Chigle down to discuss his plans for his lump sum - beyond PBs and some house renovations, because a significant portion is just sitting in the joint account, which makes me twitchy, but I don't feel I can make a unilateral decision to move it.Happy Friday everyone.

Watching the newsDH and I took a decision at the beginning of the year that we were writing this year off on a travel basis (booked for 2022), and weren't that keen even on daytrips, or our usual theatre habit until we saw how things panned out - we have a couple of things that were automatically rebooked from last year that we thought we'd use to see how we felt. But I feel so sorry for people who have booked and are having these changes dropped on them. And I should say, I am DESPERATE to get to France, I haven't seen my parents since Christmas 20192014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8565
