Finally managed to see a Populus live invitation before it was full, so £2 for about 7mins work, occasionally their surveys come up on Nectar, but I always rule myslef out becasue I know they pay better through their own site! I just wish they didn't have such a high cashout limit, it's taking me ages to get there2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8563

Morning all.Darn! Thought I'd posted and hadn't hit the button so I lost a long post.In summary, feeling a bit low because I'm still waiting for an MRI on my foot, so although I'm not in pain, I can't drive or walk the dog like I normally do. So I'm feeling fat and sluggish, but trying to get some movement in with short resitance band workouts and monitoring my food with MFP.Nothing to report on the mortgage until the end of the month.Still waiting for the power company to get back to me about the non-functioning smart meter, so I can't do any comparisons or fixes there at the moment.Nectar (Christmas food fund) is at £67.13 and not moving much because Mr C is doing the shopping and I don't know if he's using the app.Popluslive is at £33 but won't payout until I reach £50 and I've only done three surveys with them this year!Right, posting before I lose this again.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8566

Chiglepig - have you tried ringing the hospital to see if they have any short notice cancellations?

I hadn't thought of that, @Poppycat, the consultant said 2-4 weeks, so I will ring them on Monday - I suppose I felt as I wasn't in pain, I would wait it out, but I can't start physio until it's done so I should make a bit of noise.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8562

My Nectar offers are really good this week, all things that are already on the shopping list. I need to persuade Mr C that it not silly for both of us to go and to do separate baskets!I've posted in more detail on FIREside, but I had a month that has been missing added to my pension yesterday - which made me very happy, it's been missing since 2016For the moment,OP-ing the mortgage is outdoing all my other investments
, so I'm maintaining the balance; at the end of the year I'm going to ask for a reduction in monthly payment if it's not applied automatically, but up the OP. I think most of my job is safe (for at least a year) but I like the idea that if the worst did happen to my job, the standard mortgage payment would be easily covered from MrChigle's pension, and our overpayment reserve (aka catastrophe fund), would go even further.
Happy Friday everyone.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8563 -
My nectar offers are mostly useless, I use my card when buying stuff for tasting sessions at school and then about three weeks later I get offers on those items but I've moved on by then and won't need those things again for another year.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

It looks and feels like November out there. I sat in the green house to listen to Gardener's Question Time, but that was about as much as I could stand. I found an extra £100 to put in my S&S ISA after checking through savings for this month, so a bit more added to the overall plan - Mortgage OPs - Savings/investments - Pension.

That was some storm last night, the rain and wind were so loud I had to get up to check all of the windows were closed. Fortunately, no damage, including the trees at the back of the house. Most exciting week of the month for MFWB me
, Mortgage and OP go out on Friday.

Good Morning All.Non-working day so I'm hoping for some longer gaps in the rain, doggo needs a good off lead walk and I need to treat the garden with slug and vine weevil nematodes. I'm still waiting for the forget-me-nots to finish flowering so I can make space for plants I've grown from seed, the greenhouse, coldframe and most of the patio are overflowing, but I can't deprive the bees of those last few flowers. If I had to buy the number of plants I grown from seed this year (£15 spent on new varieties, everything else collected from last year), I would have spent hundreds to buy this many plants, and I get the wellbeing benefits of growing them. I've also been able to give some away to friends for extra feel-good factor, especially when they send me pics later in the summer. Also planning on sowing some salad leaves today, I should have been doing it all spring, but some how didn't get round to it.Mr C's pension and lump sum hits the bank tomorrow, so we have to sit down and make some decisions, we know upstairs needs a serious makeover, including complete remodelling of the mater bedroom; the car is only ten years old, and has been brilliantly reliable (Ford Focus, never failed an MOT, don't get me started on our previous car, bloody Renault!), but has an embarrassing rattle caused by a 50p clip that can only be resolved by removal and likely replacement of the catalytic converter (well over £1k), and is due to start needing other work - with only one car, I'd rather not wait to have to buy in a hurry. Plus, we'd like something more efficient, either hybrid or electric. If anyone has any experience of hybrids or electric, please feel free to share! As for the rest, it'll go into PBs until he decides on what to do with it. What we won't be doing is making a mortgage OP (please don't exile me from the board
) our current overpayments are enough to take eight, years off the original 25 year term, but I'm also investing to cover my options.
Anyway, enough from me, have a good Tuesday.2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8566
