  • After a lovely weekend it's back to Monday with a bit of a bump.  Busy work day, housework to catch up on and the weather is quite miserable at the moment...

PAD's made this morning, £5 to CC7 (leaving me just £5 in the bills account) and a whopping £24 (by mistake) to the sealed pot. There must have been a delay in transferring the £12 I was aiming to send so I have actually done it twice. Never mind, just tomorrow to go before I get paid on Weds and I have no plans for any spending.  Today will be NSD#17 for April, I am aiming for 20 by the end of the month so that should be achievable.

I am pleased with the total amount I have cleared from CC7 this month, just under £550 in total but I will definitely be working on that compromise next month and putting my large overpayment into a holding pot till the end of the month just in case it's needed. I also need to replenish the EF from the insurance payments.

I hope everyone has a good Monday, my coffee break is over so back to work I go

Good work on the CC... it shows how little and often mounts up - I've done about £480 since my last statement.... it feels good to see it going down :)

Thanks @bigbeff it really does give you a good feeling when you realise how the small payments have contributed. Let’s keep at it :)

Morning all, last day for me today before pay day.  I have made my PAD's and sent 8p to the sealed pot and £9.92 to CC7 which rounds that balance nicely. As I have nothing left to spend, by default today will be a NSD, number 18 for April.

I have raised a query at work as my new payslip doesn't look right and I'm actually taking home less money even though I've had a pay rise. Will see what they say about it when they come back to me I know there's the NI increase but that % is lower than my pay increase % so I am confused.

The weather doesn't look promising today so there will be no coffee breaks in the garden, even the dog isn't bothered about venturing outside... he just got back in his bed and I can't really blame him! :)

I have a busy day at work so today should pass quickly, not sure what plans are for this evening yet perhaps some board games.

    Have a lovely Tuesday

  • Good morning everyone, and happy pay day to meeee :)

Up early today and paid lots of bills, replenished the EF from the insurance payments and I have also placed by CC7 overpayment into the newly established 'holding pot'.  This has depleted the account much earlier than usual as I would normally wait for the bill to be generated around 6th of the month but my spends account now has money in again for this month so I don't feel disheartened too much.

Today is another NSD for me, even though it's pay day.
This is not by choice... hubby is at work today and has a delivery due - it will be delivered 'between 8am and 8pm' and that's all we have to go on so I am staying in again today. This is NSD #19 for the month so not doing bad really

Right, off to walk the dog before my 8am curfew starts :D

Happy payday 🥳 Wow you’ve done more than not too bad with the NSDs, 19 is amazing.

Thank you! I think this month is a bit flukey though as it started off with Covid so we couldn't actually go anywhere so it gave me a good head start.  Moving forwards I think 12-15 will be more realistic :)

  • Guess who's delivery item is still at the depot, with very little chance of being delivered today... Yep, ours! So it looks like i am staying in again tomorrow which will mean another NSD hopefully.

Bit of good news, I went online to my tax profile and found that HMRC posted me a cheque yesterday for £102 as I had paid too much tax last year... so it will be nice to get that in the next few days.

The question is - Should I pay it off CC7, add it to the sealed pot for Christmas spending, pop in the EF in case I need it or just spend it on me? :D

Mixed bag of news from me this evening but I was quite excited about the rebate, I've never had one before and I felt I needed to share the news with someone other than the dog.

Well done on the rebate. If you’re unsure why not split it 4 ways £25 in each category. Or you could just treat yourself as it was unexpected 😆

  • So the delivery didn't arrive yesterday, but I had a notification last night that it had been delivered at lunchtime. This was after the delivery helpline had closed so I called the retailer and they are starting an investigation. I am so annoyed ay Y0d3L, it seems like every time we have a delivery with them there is an issue.

I will be staying in again today, in the hope it was a mix up and it will come today. If not, I will be reporting it as stolen. This will make today NSD #20 for April.

My PAD today is a DD, but I have also sent £1 to CC7 and 10p to my sealed pot which keeps everything nicely rounded. I do wish i had found Monzo sooner, it's so easy to use.

Today is a busy day ahead at work, but it will start with a complaint call to the delivery company. Not exactly my preferred start to the day.  On the up-side, I had completely forgotten it is another long weekend, so that was a nice surprise this morning :D

Hope everyone has a good day
