  • Thanks @dg1019, I thought I was feeling better yesterday afternoon but it was very short lived and I had to have a long nap...

The bins didn't survive...The street ended up looking like a location of 'It's a Knockout' (possibly showing my age here) and neighbours were chasing bins to get them back.

It's Friday so time for the fortnightly finance update:
    CC7 £7788.84 (11.5% credit utilised)
    Cash £5
    Bills account £160
    Spends account £250
    Car account £3706.63 / £10,000
    EF £425.28
    Sealed pot challenge £1505.59
    DFBXmas challenge £6392.26 / £8000
    Gift Cards £320

It's all looking pretty positive, today's PAD was £4 round down to CC7 which is reflected in the above, today will be NSD number 6 as I lost track of what day it is and I have the stuff to make a curry tonight so we don't need a take out :D  Must be all the sleeping we are doing.

We will do another LFT in the morning as I know the symptoms can linger on, we will need more groceries at some point, although we use a reloadable gift card (not included in the above) that we top up at a discounted rate so will this be included as 'spending' given that we spent on pay day to add the funds? I'm not sure...

Anyway, happy Friday chums and thank you for your continued support on this journey, I really do appreciate it.

  • Well, I tried to get a home delivery / click and collect slot, but our gift card can't be used online... so I will be doing another LFT later on and masking up to go to Tesco whilst it's quiet. It's usually exceptionally quiet on a Friday night.
Could do without it to be honest, but trying to face the supermarket on a Saturday feeling like this is not something I want to even contemplate.

  • Paid for the shopping to be delivered, too many cons for going in person... so today is not a NSD after all. Lol

  • I'm late with an update today, totally shattered to be honest and so fed up of the ongoing symptoms of Covid. It's clear that me and hubby are finding it tough, we aren't sickly people and it's taking its toll. We aren't used to being together 24-7 either... not ideal.

Made my PADs this morning to CC7 and the sealed pot. just little bent round downs, no budget for anything bigger, it's all gone on the CC7 regular payment! :D

No changes to the credit scores, none were expected but they're still in a good shape to be honest.

Nothing else to report, currently a little in debit with the utilities but I'm certain by the time we get to the end of the tariff period we will be even-sevens.

We both felt grotty and really tired for a couple weeks after we started testing negative again. It really does linger on.

Hope you start to feel a bit better soon.

Morning everyone. Up early today to watch the F1 and then done some pottering in the house. I have to do it in stints as I run out of energy quite quickly.  #stupidcovid

Made my PAD to CC7 this morning, just a bank round down but it’s there all the same. Nothing else to report, although I think my outstanding debt is now less than DHs so that’s a mini-win for me. He didn’t have anywhere near as much as I did to start with either.

Today is NSD number 7 of April so far.

    Off for a snooze

  • Morning everyone, and Happy Monday... At least for most it's a short week this week, and I have a couple of days annual leave next week to extend the bank holiday.

I am feeling a bit brighter today, although I still don't have much energy at least I can keep my eyes open for longer than an hour at a time so that feels like a positive to me.

Made a bank round down PAD this morning to CC7, there's about £40 surplus in the bills account to make the daily PADs with. I've moved my savings to my Monzo account into pots so that it's harder to move the money (not much, but it's definitely more effort) Next Monday I should know what's happening with my car and home insurance and whether I need to use my EF for the payments this month to switch or they can just get paid next month as renewals.

Today will be NSD #8 for April, we are using left over chicken from the Sunday roast to make a supreme this evening, it will be quick and easy.  We have supplies in for the rest of the week too although I am supposed to be going out tomorrow night I will have to take a LFT later and see if I'm negative.  I didn't really want to waste them whilst we were feeling poorly so we haven't been taking them daily.

That CC7 figure is so tauntingly close to being a round number, it's messing with my OCD, but I can't transfer less than £1 so it will have to stay like it for now... as long as it's going down I'm a happy bunny.

Hope you all have a nice day, it looks like it will be good weather-wise

Cancelled my plans for tomorrow, I just don't see how I will have the energy, and even if I do, I probably won't enjoy myself.  Plus, it saves some money

  • Good morning :) Well, it's morning anyway haha! We are now testing negative but still feel poorly. Hopefully hubby will be back at work later this week and I'm back working from home today.

Today will be NSD #9 for April, clearly I am front loading them this month :D neither of us are going anywhere, except a quick walk with the dog as we still feel rubbish (you did say this would happen @RelievedSheff)...

Balances are all looking OK, there's enough to PAD each day until pay day comes (15 days and counting) and aside from a night's camping near a pub we don't have any plans for the rest of this month, no birthdays either in contrast with March!

i am certainly trying hard not to order things online, especially as when
you're poorly it's nice to have little treats :) However, the biggest treats will be when a) the debt is gone and b) opening the sealed pot on October 27th and being able to cover the cost of Christmas and my girls weekend away in November.

Right, off to get logged on for work

  • Been on an exceptionally long call this morning where my contribution was all of 5 minutes so I have been re-jigging the budget spreadsheet and getting home and car insurance quotes.  If all things remain equal, my final payment to CC7 should be 27th March 2022 and this is now £660 instead of £1000. This will be even less over time as I make additional payments though PADding.

Hubby has already said he will need to contribute to energy costs when the fixed term runs out, so that's good.

I've been quoted £180 for my annual car insurance and £106 for my annual home insurance. I'm pleased with both of these and will definitely be switching if my current providers can't match the prices.

I have more calls this afternoon but these need much more contribution, and I need to stay alert for them so I'm off to top up my coffee!
