  • Well done for donating to food bank. I like to be able to do that. As you say, we never know when we may need it ourselves.  My SIL once remarked how she had donated, to which FIL replied that he couldn't understand people who donated stuff as he thinks too many people want something for nothing these days!!!!!!  I won't even begin to tell you what I said to that.  He won't even get rid of old tat on the free groups on FB or anything, he thinks he has to sell everything and make some money. Most of his stuff is old and worth nothing anyway, so he never manages to get rid of it. But somewhere there is probably someone who is in need and could make use of it. Makes me cross. MIL gifted me an old shopping trolley a while ago, that she had had in the cupboard for years and not used....FIL was less than impressed!  Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox now and hope you have a good evening. x

  • Oh @AntoMac, I am certain your FIL and I would not get on! :D

I have always donated to charity, I have a couple of monthly direct debits to charities close to my heart and the food banks are being inundated at the moment with the cost of living crisis.  My family has always given wherever they could for as long as I can remember so it's kind of engrained in me.  Whether it's a rattling bucket, a charity pot on the counter or a sponsored something or other I am usually making a donation. :)

I was annoyed today in b and q - there was a raffle out for shelter but couldn’t find the woman to buy tickets! Always try and buy something for the food banks when I see them

I remember seeing a programme on TV a couple of years ago about food banks and it was heartwarming to see how a couple of bags of food made a huge difference to the recipients. It can mean the difference to them eating or not eating and unfortunately it’s only going to get worse 😢 We have a food bank collection point at work and people are always very generous.

With the Strictly results being on tonight hope you don’t get confused and start logging on to work tomorrow thinking it’s Monday 😆

  • So glad that even though we are tackling our debts there are so many like-minded people.  I made sure my donation included some nice chocolate festive treats too :)

No chance I’m logging on in the morning, I’ve managed to get my head around it now but it was confusing this morning ha!  Hamza or Will for the win for me 🙌

  • We have our Tesc@ home delivery every Sunday for us and my daughter, and we always put an extra fivers worth in for the foodbank. When we work out the final tallys its around £2.50 each but done weekly I think it must make a difference. Some weeks we get loads and other weeks just two packs of nappies, but we try and get what they request.

I like to think it makes a difference to someone. And like I said, you never know when you’ll need it.

Today there was a big shopping list so I tried to get one of everything

  • Morning! Busy day ahead for me, visiting family and dropping off presents. Will be spending but it will be low spends today.

£2 sent to CC7 this morning, nothing available to cash out but plenty still pending.

The weather is miserable so I’m sure the roads will be a mess with slow traffic. I’ve some laundry to get through this morning the kitchen needs cleaning before I go out too.

    Better get started :)

  • Just to say, if you are finding CCs a bit slow now, as I am.....I have discovered another site that seems to be paying very well so far. Don't want to advertise obviously, but it begins with a Q. Hope you know which one I mean.

  • Unexpected NSD for me today as my wonderful dad insisted on paying the bill at the family festive meal.  I even had a decent drive there and back which was a blessing.

Ready for a relaxing night with hubby and the football now.
