We have found smart meters really help us watch our energy use.
The in house display has also alerted us a few times now when we have accidentally left a high power appliance turned on. 😳2 -
Thanks RS, I’m sure it’s going to do us good.I’ve just cashed out £6 from Prolific. Sent it off to CC7

We have a smart meter too, have done for a few years now. It makes it so much easier for me as our gas meter is outside and the cover is a devil to get off. Never had any problems with them.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Good morning! Busy day in the house of LMD today. I've lots on at work as we head to the end of the month and this afternoon our smart meters are being fitted. I've been up since about 5:45 and already updated the spreadsheet and filled in my budget journal. I now have 300 days until my projected debt free date - quite exciting!
PAD today is £1 to CC7. I'm aware this is also how yesterday started and then I added another £31 from Topcashback and Prolific but there's no likelihood of a repeat todayYesterday turned out to be a good Prolific study day so I have £7 pending but it will probably take a few days.
Today will be NSD 21 of September, thanks to Covid I feel like I've overachieved this month. I've nothing planned for the weekend either so I should get a good start to October too.
Off to get the 3rd coffee of the day - have a good Thursday all!

Argh... annoyingly Eon have had to cancel our meter exchange appointment. The only good side of it is that they are crediting our account with £30 for inconvenience. I was really hoping to get them in before the new cap rates but that's out the window now.

How annoying! That happened with us back in April (BG also paid us £30 for cancelling within 24 hours). Im hoping our Gas still gets done on Tuesday morning.

Very annoying but at least I work from home so didn’t have to take time off 🤷🏻♀️LMD xLife gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25710

That sucks about them cancelling but hey, the money is handy!!!!
I have a PAYG meter for my gas and electric so we’re able to monitor it better. I have been a lot more cautious about leaving things turned on etc in recent months but I’m sure I could be more cautious!!!1 -
Up very early this morning, but have been super-productive so far. I have already cashed out another £6 from Prolific and completed 3 early morning studies, it seems it pays to be up early - quite literally!
So, along with a couple of small DD's my PAD was £17 (£7 to CC7) and today should be another NSD as I don't need to go anywhere but as it's the last day of September I am not committing myself too early as I can't recoup it later in the month.
My final payment on CC7 is now projected to be down to £422 (from £745) so I can clearly see what a difference I am making by throwing extra money at the debt. I really do think that over the next 10 months I can wipe this last payment with PADs and surveys too!
That's it from me this morning, have a great Friday all!

Turned out to be a NSD for me after all. Happy with my total and my target of 15 heading into October
