Happy Friday eve 😄 All sounding good.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Just a thought - have you considered a bank account switch?  Nationwide are offering £200 at the moment as per MSE weekly email.  I’ve been reading about ‘burner’ accounts that people use instead of their current accounts they are happy with and I’m giving it a go.

    You’re doing so well.

    Thanks 😊

My account is already with Nationwide though, I’ve been with them since 2015 and my mortgage is with them so I don’t really want to move to another.

Same with me and I didn’t want to move but I’ve set up a new Monzo current account, set up 2 dds on that to 2 separate charities for what I can afford and once listed I can in theory apply for the switch of the Monzo account to a new nationwide account leaving my normal current nationwide account as it is.

once I receive the £200, I will then apply for another switch somewhere else.  Moving my new NW account Depending on each banks t&cs.

It’s all theory on my part and My understanding on what others are doing, but worth a try and 2 charities also get donations too.

I’m part of the ninja turtles thread and it’s being discussed on the October challenge.

As I said though it’s new to me & I’ve probably not explained it very well but I was a bit miffed at being a NW customer for over 20 yrs and getting nothing but newbies getting £200 - I’ll be so made up of it works!  😀.

I kinda wished I had have thought of that.  I’ve just sacrificed my longest serving bank account 😂😂

My wife is doing the same and she was with her current bank since 1998 when she was 11!!!
  • Happy Friday everyone! At last... :D

I have an exceptionally busy day at work today, with just 30 mins spare to try and grab some lunch and walk the dog. Unlikely I will be able to get many surveys done even if they become available. I tried doing some panelbase surveys last night but I just kept getting screened out, which kinda reminded me why I stopped doing them.

My PAD today is £1 to CC7, and it's another NSD for me. We have plans to go out on Sunday so it will be spendy then. I am trying to reserve funds for that :)

That's all from me, I'm still patiently waiting to win the lottery

  • Morning! I am definitely feeling that late night this morning... Although I'm pleased I finally managed to cash out some funds to throw at CC7. My projected final payment is now under £400 - Whooop!  I did another couple of very small studies this morning, but in general the weekends seem to be quiet on Prolific.

Sent £1 to CC7 this morning as today's PAD and it will be another NSD today. Tomorrow will be spendy though so I will make up for it there :D  I'm looking forward to going out though and not having to cook a Sunday roast for a change.

I keep thinking about that EF and wondering if I should just send it to the credit card instead. But then I won't have a slush fund for mishaps and I need to remember that the CC isn't costing me anything in interest.  I'm just so impatient haha.

Hope you all have a great Saturday

I think you're doing amazing! I would keep the emergency fund as it is, and keep PADding the way that you are, as it will bring the final balance down even more over time. I really admire how you have a life and still service your debts, so I wouldn't change your way of doing things. It might make your debt free date a little further, but you have your countdown, and when you reach a point closer to say may £200 left for the final payment, maybe then reconsider?
