What a fantastic achievement and it's great to see you using those charts to colour in, they're fantastic aren't they? I've put off doing a new one when my debt reset and increased, but you've reminded me how important the visual motivation is so I'll sort mine out for the the debt free tracker.x

  • Morning all. Very early start for me this morning, thanks to the dog for getting me up at 5:10am... now he's snoring beside me on the sofa and I'm wide awake :(  I'm guessing I will be shattered later.

The last of the '1st of the month' DD's have left the account today, to the tune of £296.28 - the bills account looks a bit bleak now but I still have money in my spends account for the rest of the month.  Today will be NSD #2 for October, the next few days will be spendy as we are out with friends tomorrow night and then at a comedy gig on Weds evening.

One benefit of being up early is that I have already managed to do a Prolific study :D hopefully there will be more throughout the day and I can build up the balance again. I may have an Amazon voucher headed my way for referring a friend to a company we have used, although how long it will take to come through is anyone's guess so I won't hold my breath. If it does though, that's £25 in my Amazon account and I can send the equivalent to CC7.

That's about it from me this morning, hope everyone has a good start to the week!

  • YESSSSSSSSSS @LittleMissDetermined 🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊 Soooo happy for you! Congrats on reaching your £1000 EF goal!
Thank you! I’m really pleased. The hard work to £10k starts here though 😬
Wow! £10k?! That's quite the EF but good for you for wanting that financial stability! Is that 6 months worth of bill money for you? I would love to be able to have around 3 months but to round it up it comes to about £5k :) Do you plan on continuing to build this fund up whilst paying off your remaining debt? x

It's just over 3 months salary payments and will provide a little peace of mind in case anything happens employment-wise. It would run to a longer period for just bill coverage but I wanted to save at least 3 months salary to start with.

I will start building this whilst still clearing the credit card. As it's 0% til Oct there's only the pressure I put on myself to clear it sooner.  Although I am under no illusion how long it will take me to reach that £10k so it's not a short term goal!

  • Morning all! Just a quick update from me whilst I am getting ready for a day in the office.

£6 PAD made to CC7 this morning as I managed to cash out £5 from Prolific first thing. Not a NSD today as we are out this evening but it shouldn't be a big spends day as I will be driving and hubby can have a beer. I will also need to pop some fuel in the car today as we will be using it this evening and tomorrow evening too.

Not much else to report really, it's steady-away on the finance front.  Waiting for the statement for CC7 to be generated so I can send the usual payment there, until then it will just be small PADs.

Have a great Tuesday all! :)

I'd love to have 3 months salary and bills saved up. I want a sabbatical from working for a few months so that I can just have a mental and physical break. I'm looking forward to being debt free and being able to start to squirrel some money away.

Your balance is looking really good, how many days until your debt free date now?

  • Morning all! Already halfway through the week and I am looking forward to the weekend already, it's been a busy 3 days at work but I really enjoyed being in the office yesterday so we are going to try and do it more regularly when DH shifts allow.

@Keedie I still have 294 days until debt freedom so a fair old way to go, although I am hopeful that 30 days can be shaved off that with PADs and survey completions as the final projected payment is now down to £406 so I do think this is do-able.

Today's PAD is £1 to CC7, not a NSD as hubby and I are out tonight to a show we booked some point last year and almost forgot about. I have £7.40 pending in my Prolific and will be checking for more studies throughout the day and seeing if the balance becomes payable.

The weather here today is truly miserable, cold, windy and rainy. Even the dog doesn't want to go out!
Hope you all have a happy Wednesday
