  • Amazing PAD @LittleMissDetermined :) Almost there with your EF goal. I'd be half tempted to throw the extra few pennies that way just to round it off :D Sucks feeling temporarily loaded knowing its only for a few hours !
I am very tempted to be honest, but I know that it will be pushed over the target next pay day as I have allocated some more funds in the budget. I need to see what October brings first... we never know what's around the corner haha.

  • Impromptu NSD as my evening out was cancelled. Oh well, a night snuggled on the sofa beckons, much to the dogs delight! :D

  • Oooh I’ve just checked TopCashback and I’ve got £25 winging it’s way to my bank from an insurance policy I took out in Feb… once that clears I can send it to CC7- Yay!

A good time to claim it to be honest! I always forget about it as I only really use it for when I’m doing the insurance.  Better in my pocket though so I’m not gonna complain :)

  • Morning all - I see the signatures have gone haywire again, had to shave a few hundred off my balances this morning (if only I could do that for real so easily :D )

So, today isn't a NSD, I am off shopping this evening with friends and we will probably eat out. I have managed 20 NSDs in September so far though so I think that's good going.  October probably won't be as good but we will see what happens, I will probably aim for 15.

PAD today was a small DD and £1 to CC7, I am not sure how long it will take the TopCashback payment to hit my bank, but I will keep checking for it. I am also keeping an eye on Prolific for a) more studies and b) my payable amount hitting the threshold, it's currently at £3.31.

Had a few Y-Live surveys lately but I keep getting screened out, it seems that a middle aged woman in Yorkshire isn't the demographic they are after :D

Still feeling good about the finances overall and I think this has been boosted lately by the EF being almost at target. Even though we have the house fund for any mis-haps you just never know when you need extra cash. Things inevitably go awry when you're skint!

Hope you all have a good Wednesday. For some reason I can't keep track of the days this week. Although it doesn't take a lot to baffle my brain since Covid.

  • Forgot to add, I have arranged for Eon to put smart meters in. I'm hoping this will make us more mindful of the energy we are using over the winter time. (I am already mindful, but I guess I'm hoping it influences the husband :D

    Morning LMD.

You have reminded me to rebook my gas one as it got cancelled by BG with short notice!  Our Electric is already smart.  When we had the electric meter installed my girls were (and still are) conscious of where the little arrow on the meter goes, they look to keep this in the Green as much as possible!  I can see from my energy usage since we had it installed that the usage is below last years at the same point.

I've been seeing a lot of promo info for smart meters, but I'm a bit baffled by it all. I don't know if it would change my habits or just make me more paranoid about my bills....🤦🏾‍♀️. It's good that it's working for you both though x

  • I had a smart meter at our old house so I'm certain it will benefit us here.  My TopCashback payment has hit the bank so I have just sent that over to CC7 - taking me below the £6.5k mark! Yay!
