You’re doing brilliantly LMD, seems like you have unstoppable momentum now
Thanks so much, I really do feel like I am in a positive space right now. I know there is enough in the budget for the energy bills, and my sealed pot will take care of Christmas and my January holiday spending money.

Today's not a NSD though as I needed to replace some make up.  I don't have to buy it often though so I am not going to grumble at a £30 spend, plus I am allowed to treat myself every now and then :D

I have made my PAD to CC7 of £1 and there's still money left in the spends account if needed over the next 3 days before pay day on Tuesday. Just 1 more DD to come out at £3.49 so that's not a lot.

My sealed pot total is looking very good, I'm 31p away from the next colouring square on the SPC chart so I've been tempted to add some more... perhaps tomorrow.

That's all from me - enjoy your Friday's guys and make the most of this lovely sunshine whilst we are still getting it!

  • Glad to see that you have spent some money for yourself for a change :)
  • Good morning!  Thanks @RelievedSheff, I did think of you when I added the update haha.

We ended up going out for dinner and a few drinks last night, hubby’s treat so that was nice. I’m feeling it this morning though, gonna have to have a fair amount of coffee 😂

£1 PAD made to CC7 this morning and today will be a NSD, just pottering around the house and then watching Strictly this evening - my guilty pleasure!

3 more days to pay day, it will be interesting to see what difference the mini-budget outcomes make to my pay when they kick in. Thinks it’s November? It’ll be a bit extra for Christmas anyway.

Hope you all have a lovely Saturday

  • Good morning all, the dog woke me up super early this morning so I have already posted my PAD and updated my signature.  So close to the £6.5k mark now and I'm really proud of myself.

Today will be another NSD, no plans except for some laundry and walking the dog. Although he's currently snoring away beside me - typical!  My PAD was £1 to CC7, I have £5 pending in Prolific but it's unlikely to clear today. I've not seen any studies for a while either, hopefully there will be more soon.

Eon have sent an email with projected annual consumption and charges, so I have worked out annual costs of these and then split it to monthly. Hubby will make his contribution too and we will pay the full estimated cost.  They are reducing the DD due to the £400 payments but I would rather pay the additional and be £400 in credit.  Surprisingly they also sent a text to promote their smart pre-pay meters - I'm not sure who would want to move from credit to pre-pay given the rates are higher! Definitely not for me. It makes me feel better that we have a plan for the energy, and hopefully, by the time the cap freeze is over we will be in a much better place (globally and personally)

I have been waiting for an insurance claim to be paid and they have sent a letter saying that a payment is being raised, so this gives me about £400 to put in the EF once that comes through. It's taken a while but I'm glad it's sorted.

Nothing else much to report from a money perspective.  I keep reviewing my spreadsheets to see if I can throw any more at the CC debt but I think it's pretty much optimised at the moment.  Will re-visit when the NI rates go down again.

    Have a lovely relaxing Sunday

  • I woke up to the other half and the dog snoring this morning.

No idea when the dog had sneaked onto the bed. He isn't allowed to sleep with us 🤣🤣🤣

  • Aww they’re having a lovely cuddle! Our dog pretty much sleeps wherever he likes
