    Yess....cymruchris

but i seriously & religiously do not wish to pay any charges as i am struggling anyway.....i hope many people will understand...most important is paying my children's (they are abroad) school fees and their uniform costs and their illness costs. I have many many illnesses and i just cannot mention all them but if anyone wants to know i will mention it.....its hardly confidential.
    Hi.
Can I put it this way.
What would happen to your family back home, if something happened to you?
Such as a bad fall and you could not get in touch with anyone to come and rescue you?

End of the day, you have to look after yourself, to be able to look after anyone else.

Alongside this you need a keysafe. So if anything happens emergency services can get in without having to kick a door in.

I bought a phone via amazon for my mother as she kept falling. It was supposed to call me if she pressed the fab. The one time she needed it, she was out of range. Was sat ALL NIGHT till neighbour heard her cries for help...
We then got a proper set up from the local council. Worked a treat when she once again fell in the same place.
Ambulance & police arrived before me, they got into house via key safe as they got the number via the monitoring team.

It's possible that's what the council's system does, but there WILL be other options. The Sovereign Careline system I already linked to, for example: if it's activated, it goes to a response centre. If you are able to speak to them, they will call your wife. If you are not able to speak to them, as far as I know they will STILL call your wife. Only if she didn't respond or if she thought there was a problem would emergency services be called.

We had several contacts listed, and they would work their way through the contacts.

In fact, I think it was the flexibility of the system which decided it for my parents, the council system was more restrictive in what could be done.

Have you installed the Alexa app on your phone and allowed it to sync with your phone contacts?
(Have you had a good read through the instructions?)

The system my Mother had, called the response center who have a list of emergency contacts to call (so me 1st). So if you have say a brother close. They will call them, but may ask if they want the emergency services called as well.
If you have no one to call then it will be direct to the emergency services.

Or just search this on Amazon

Something like that would do very well - but the OP has mentioned that budget is next to nothing - so is likely out of their current price range.

What price do you put on your safety & your families wellbeing?

I totally agree - but the OP is more concerned with sending money overseas for his or her family, when they should be putting themselves first, and then supporting the family when that's possible.
