Why are people using the word gazumped?
This word doesn't fit in this scenario. This thread on the whole is very bizarre.5 -
Get them to prove the price they paid!0

I'm expecting the sellers to strip the summer house back to a totally bare shell when they leave.billy2shots said:

I guess the next conundrum in this thread will be if the have taken the sofas and cosy fire...3

I cant believe people are siding with the sellers. If I was selling a house and told a young first time buyer I would most probably be leaving the Summerhouse, then there is no way I would then just decide to take it without at least talking to them again before accepting their offer.
As the OP stated, they have put their life savings into this new house and the sellers are downsizing and no doubt considerably wealthier than this young couple. Really !!!!!! move by the sellers and if they pulled this stunt on me I would take great delight in telling them to shove their Summer House then dropping my offer by 3k the day before exchange, take it or leave it....7 -
Takes two to tango. The matter should have been clarified when the offer was made. Job done. None of this subsequent nonsense which has riled both parties.rik111 said:I cant believe people are siding with the sellers.2 -
Nobody's siding with anybody.
The buyer was told "might be left, might be going" at the viewing.
The PIF said it was going.
They've negotiated pre-exchange to have it left.
Everybody's happy.1 -
Well done! Thanks for updating us. 🙂Charrrb said:New update... the sellers have said "if you can offer £1000 they will leave the summer house as we all want to be able to keep the sales progressing." I'm so thankful for those people who told me to stick to my guns!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Highly unlikely that they are going to leave any of the furniture, fixtures or fittings. They are buying the building, not the contents - same as the main house itself.Irishpearce26 said:I guess the next conundrum in this thread will be if the have taken the sofas and cosy fire...0 -
And the usual definition is if you could pick the property up, turn it upside down, and shake it... what would remain?NinjaTune said:

A wooden garden shed free-standing on a concrete base? Nope. As removable as garden furniture.0
