You’re absolutely spot on. I seem to remember a few years ago an undercover piece was done on private parking scammers....er sorry, firms!! It was BBC Watchdog (I think), can’t remember which cowboy firm they exposed but I distinctly remember one of their employees stating that “they just make things up sometimes”2 -
It was PCM:

You realise the Government (MHCLG) are currently working on a statutory, independent Single Appeals Service and Code of Practice, because the industry is so out of control?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Something needs to be done. They get away with far too much.1

I expect MSAs are suffering from lockdown as well, their restaurants are closed, the rentals from shops may be affected, and their petrol sales through the floor. I very much doubt that they can afford the staff to deal with PCNs.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2

Hi All!
I’m providing an update from my thread from yesterday. An email was sent to the CEO of MOTO and the reply was along the lines of MOTO providing 2 hours free parking with various signage throughout the car parks and that it appears that the fine is valid. The Commercial Manager of MOTO also replied, stating that he was confident that the PCN would be cancelled if appealing directly to CP Plus. So, it would seem that MOTO are washing their hands of this matter. Is it time to get the local MP involved? Opinions would be welcomed.0 -
No problem in getting your local MP involved , as a transport issue
By all means appeal to Group Nexus , as keeper , using the blue text template for registered keepers
Nobody should be calling it a fine , sir Nicholas Bowen would disagree with Moto !!3 -
I noticed a thread that quoted a piece in the Telegraph that MOTO wouldn’t penalise drivers who overslept in their car parks due to reasons of safety. They must have different management in place now!!0

he was confident that the PCN would be cancelled if appealing directly to CP Plus.So are we, if you are in time and don't say who was driving. Easiest one ever.
DO NOT GO APPEALING AS DRIVER...THIS IS WHY THE NEWBIES THREAD EXISTS. EASY PEASY.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi All!
Meant to ask this last night. On the appeals section of the PCN the online address given is appealpcn.co.uk
Is it best to appeal to group nexus directly or go to the email address as given on PCN?0
