As mentioned before, I don't want to go to court (yes, I know that happens only if they decide to) given the current economic uncertainty... unless I'm able to find a good reason that I think will help my case. I have gone through this thread carefully but I can't find anything at the moment.
Where do you see the mistake after mistake? So far I haven't paid them and I'm still reading and researching...

The thing that helps your case is that your AST does not require you to show a permit and does not require you to pay a third party scammer who was not a party to your lease. This is your contract with the landowner. The scammers cannot change it.

If you'd really rather pay to get rid of it, that only makes sense if you do it immediately in the discounted period.

That is the fastest way to knock this on the head and for minimal stress. If that's for you, so be it.  BUT as a money saving forum (and one that assumes most can devote a bit of time to a defence) you're unlikely to find anyone on here recommending that.

What you shouldn't do is prevaricate, incur all the bolt on costs that they'll no doubt claim and then fail to stay the course...
Thank you Johnersh, I have a few days that I'll use to continue researching. But ultimately I agree with your point.
  • So, what rights do you have over shared / communal / etc?

I found today that a different management company, when a resident can provide a picture of the parking permit, reduces the charge to admin fees (around £15).

The appeal letter I received states that UKPCM acts according to industry standards, but the previous could be proof that this is false and that they might be taking advantage of their position. They are still asking me for the entire amount of the PCN (or reduced if I pay before 14 days).

Do you think this could be enough to go against them in the small claims court?

Perhaps but the industry is unregulated and standards are abysmally low

I am of the opinion that Excel v Wilkinsion will hole them below the waterline, but it may take a little time.  Meanwhile the more Judges we bring thi to the attention of, the more likely we are to cause grief to PPCs in court.
