I think the fizzy drinks thing is being exacerbated by the shortage of carbon dioxide.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Spendy day today - I had to go into town for a contact lens check so £2 parking. I also bought 2 new zip up hoodies in Sports Direct and some socks for both of us. The HT wanted salt & pepper chicken for lunch from the chicken shop so that followed me home too.
In other news I have done the first 3 runs of C25K but I'll keep doing the week one run until the end of the week. I'm feeling better for it already. I've just made my first ever lemon drizzle cake - best friend is coming for lunch tomorrow so I thought it would make a change from crumble.
I have a few presents stashed now - some for the C word and also best friend's new house and birthday (easy, both alcohol) and another friend's birthday too.2 -
Well done on the running! I don't do running, I consider it to be highly unsightly (well it would be if it were me doing it anyway). I'm just building my walking back up after gallbladder surgery last month, my surgeon said I could start running after 4 weeks if I felt up to it...oh how we laughed! We love a Christmas dinner here and normally have at least 3 during the season. I managed to get my usual turkey crown from the butchers last week, it's nestled in the freezer and will be thoroughly enjoyed by us and the cats. Even more so this year now I can finally start eating properly again!3

@Jellytotts I made the mistake of cooking a chicken on Monday. The cat announced her interest 15 minutes into the cooking time and carried on making her interest known in ever increasing volume until it finished cooking. Given such a level of happy anticipation, we'll just have chicken for Christmas dinner. The HT likes it better than turkey too and I can still stretch it to a good few meals.3

Ooh I love lemon drizzle cake. I do have a bake off cook book so may try it one day (who am I kidding, I rarely bake!)
I also don't do running - almost typed duvets! 😂
I often cook a whole chicken for Sunday lunch. I usually get at least another meal and a couple of sandwiches out of it too. Now I have a burst of nostalgia when cooking it as my dog used to sit at my feet waiting to see if I dropped bits when I was cutting the meat. I'd always have a tupperware box for him that I'd fill with all the bits we didn't eat. He loved a roast.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again3 -
Good morning all. It's a work day here so I'm just waiting for my looked after person to arrive. NSD today as I don't take LAP shopping anywhere - mostly habit because of the covid risk. He does actually behave very well when taken out but we have everything that we need at home today.
I've spent most of the last two days with best friend who was finally able to collect the keys to his new house. On Thursday we just went and looked at it but yesterday we got stuck into cleaning and clearing with a quick visit to a shop to buy a bit of gardening kit to give us (him) a break.
Food shopping is going to be a pain next week as all the big shops are on single lane entrances - a design flaw which is showing itself now as the entrances are all blocked by people queuing for petrol. I can go elsewhere for most things but we use a type of cat litter that is sold in Asda. The media are busy causing a petrol shortage now they've had their headline worth of trying to cause food shortages. I'm all for free speech, but this kind of mass manipulation is ridiculous.2 -
Just had a bright idea - I can feel an online delivery coming on.....they must have plenty of stock as nobody can get in to buy it?2

It’s times like this I’m glad I don’t have a car. Good idea to get an online delivery, hopefully the fuel situation won’t scupper them.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Yep, petrol queues are now huge. Saying things like “fuel shortage and shop normally” just don’t go together xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
