I always iron t-shirts and hang them up. They used to be my work uniform so it's half habit, half wanting to look fairly tidy. I don't have anywhere to put them if I fold them up which reminds me I need to look for the rest of my summer trousers at some point tomorrow....0

Yesterday was grocery shopping day so planned spend. Money available £58.47 plus £15 given to me by my employer for Looked after Person's meals. Spent £54.11 - the HT's partner is here too so extra food and fruit required. Yesterday's meals were lunch for 3, dinner for 4 (the extra one from lunch was not one of the people here for dinner) so I don't think I'm doing too badly. Today will be 3 for lunch and 4 for dinner again. I still need bin bags and crisps so I think I'll head off to the Home Bargains branch at the seaside this morning (I still have the £15 in my purse that my looked after person's mum gave me) and treat myself to a walk in the fresh air too. I need to put petrol in the car but that is also budgeted for.
I need to find £13.53 extra this month. I will put £5 less petrol in today as I didn't use as much as usual this week and I have £5.04 in PA so only another £3.49 left to find. Yay me.3 -
I went a good couple of years without ironing a thing, until recently I looked at one 15's school shirts and was ashamed of the crumpled mess. I usually wash and hang but assume he'd just dumped it in his room. This is why I get so annoyed about cleaning & ironing. I put in the effort and everyone else just messes it up.😬Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1

Oh yes, I'm familiar with the concept of I clean and they mess it up. Words were also had last week about a t-shirt that was tried on, deemed unsuitable and then dumped in the wash basket. That won't be happening again any time soon. Teenagers are such a joy aren't they? I only see mine at meal times unless we're going out somewhere.1

It's a long time ago since mine were teenagers but I read the posts about washing, ironing, discarding clothes onto the floor or straight back into the washing basket as quicker and easier than putting in the wardrobe and the frustration of it all came flooding back to me. If it's any consolation they do improve with age 🤣You do really well with your food budget and I'm sure you'll magic the £3.49 from careful manoeuvring this week.3

Good morning. Yesterday was a spendy day. I went to Home Bargains for bin bags and some other bits then as we were going to a birthday party last night I caved and bought some beer and cider. I used money from savings but I'll put it back tomorrow on pension day. There's usually plenty in the kitty for things like this but May was a very spendy month due to new clothes being bought for the HT and my birthday lunch (or two....). The good news is that there's still enough left over drinks to take on Sunday when we're going back to the same friend's house for a bbq.
I have no plans to spend anything today but we all know what happens to the best laid plans 🤣

Oh I wish we had a Home Bargains here. We do have a teeny tiny B&M but it used to be a Co-op express so you can imagine how small it is.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1
