I had just started spending my nuts in January last year. I went to South Africa to watch a couple of tests and visit a game reserve. Obviously I have not gone anywhere this winter and probably Australia will still be closed later this year. My income has been down a bit, but I haven't worked out my accounts for this tax year yet so I don't know how much. My bathroom rennovation started the day before the first lockdown but is just about done. I have been working through room by room since I moved house. The kitchen should be next.
I'll probably go somewhere in the UK later this year, maybe Wales.

    • We started revising future holiday plans when myself and OH visited Cornwall for a friends birthday party. OH started reminiscing about a holiday in his misspent youth. His instructions were to buy Somewhere, Anywhere. After 2 years looking and studying the market/area we purchased a 2 bed apartment, spending around 25% of our pension funds (I know illiquid assets). The following spring we went into the first lockdown. We had decided to do Holiday lettings. The upshot was last year we covered our bills and gained 2% on original investment as well as spending 2 weeks in July on holiday. Also the apartment has gone up in price. We have a 12k holiday budget which is for 2 weeks summer and 2 weeks winter abroad skiing, but we were really grateful for our holiday in the UK. This summer the bookings are already up on this time last year, (if they go ahead).

Whatever happens, the sooner we are able to ditch the damn masks the better.
I don't mind them and may well keep wearing one in shops.  It may give some protection against colds, flu and other infections and also means I can relax more with my naturally blank/unfriendly face.  ;)
We have the lowest rate of flu infections this winter in 150 years.
Possibly another benefit resulting from social distancing?  Flu has a lower transmission rate than Covid.
Yes, due to all the covid measures incl SD, masks and hand washing

    r
You would get a glare from me as a visor protects neither you nor anyone else and does not meet the govt rules either
    .
So why do hospital staff wear them ,we have just been to our local hospital for an x-ray and most of the staff were wearing them and were quite happy for us to wear them.
Also there is an advert on the tv for " protect the NHS " and it shows staff wearing them.

Face shields are great for protecting your eyes if you dont wear glasses or other such shielding.   Covid can enter the body thru the eyes as well as mouth and nose. In general, face shields should be used with mask as the aerosol droplets can get under it to the mouth.
