We managed to downsize as Covid hit. We were delayed by six months, so had six months extra rent to pay, apart from that we have spent our squirelled nuts on new furniture and are just planning to get the garden landscaped. Exactly what we had planned in the first phase of retirement......4

Just couldn't muster the enthusiasm....plus nothing really needs doing.
Jigsaws....I've done Jigsaws!!4 -

You know you're living a Rock and Roll lifestyle, when your weekly Aldi shop is as exiting as it gets!!
As an under 50 (just, still) and not in a "frontline" (or any) occupation, I'm not expecting to get jabbed any time soon. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)2 -
Got the AZN jab last week. Felt rough for a couple of days, otherwise OK. Second jab early May. You get a nice card with confirmation, but no badge or medal.Sea_Shell said:Ganga said:

Inclined to believe that means it is doing something, hopefully its intended job.Ganga said:

& I loathe the idea of physically shopping really....pick quiet times if we need to head to our local Morrisons, happy to get milk from the local corner shop (nearly always empty!). Mind you, I also don't fancy the idea of getting in a plane any time in the next 12-24 months either, especially as other countries feel like they are way behind us on vaccines at the moment.
Am I becoming a happy hermit?
Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!2 -
..I think overcoming some of the "psychological" issues of being in lockdown for 12 months + will become a problem in itself

Like being at a standing gig, rammed in like sardines...we used to take it in our stride and not bat an eyelid.
All we were worried about was not spilling our beer!!! 🍺
Now, sadly, many people are afraid of their own shadows. ☹️How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)3
