Do what we do and wear a face visor ,mostly by choice as we are both spectacle wearers and it saves the glasses steaming up but at least you can see me smile OR glare daggers at people who do not wear a face covering or have their mask below their nose ( i know not all people can wear a mask over their mouth/nose but i am sure they could wear a face visor )westv said:
I hate them with a passion. I don't like a world where almost everybody has half a face and nobody smiles.shinytop said:
I don't mind them and may well keep wearing one in shops. It may give some protection against colds, flu and other infections and also means I can relax more with my naturally blank/unfriendly face.westv said:Whatever happens, the sooner we are able to ditch the damn masks the better.

You would get a glare from me as a visor protects neither you nor anyone else and does not meet the govt rules either.Ganga said:

No Dog destruction here, but we do get rabbit and hare destruction in the garden, plus some bird damage. Lots of wildlife round these parts so veg has to be grown inside a wire cage lol.MallyGirl said:We ended up spending last year's big holiday refund on complete redecoration of the top floor of the house into husband's home office and also replacing the boiler which was very poorly despite being only 7 years old. New boiler is bigger and I have been very grateful for it recently. This year we are going to replace the greenhouse - we got a picket fence installed round the whole veggie area so there is some chance of growing things without dog destruction. We did try to get it done this month but couldn't get an installer in the right timeframe- it will have to last one more growing season. I foresee some significant time in the garden as foreign travel is not going to be happening any time soon. We were going to Tanzania last summer - their approach to Covid (denial, steam rooms and smoothies instead of vaccine) means that we will rethink future destinations. For now we have booked a cottage in the Lakes in June for a change of scene and are crossing our fingers that it can go ahead. There are plenty of walks from the front door so we don't have to mix with people.
We spent our holiday refund on a 2 week UK holiday this aug/sept seeing our kids and parts of the
UK, and booking two holidays this year. Not sure about the easter one, got to wait and see.
And yes, when i redid my car insurance in June i lowered the mileage for both our cars as we werent driving much.1 -
We have the lowest rate of flu infections this winter in 150 years.shinytop said:

Possibly another benefit resulting from social distancing? Flu has a lower transmission rate than Covid.atush said:

So why do hospital staff wear them ,we have just been to our local hospital for an x-ray and most of the staff were wearing them and were quite happy for us to wear them.michaels said:You would get a glare from me as a visor protects neither you nor anyone else and does not meet the govt rules either

In the context of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, a face covering is something which safely covers the nose and mouth. You can buy reusable or single-use face coverings. You may also use a scarf, bandana, religious garment or hand-made cloth covering but these must securely fit round the side of the face.
Face visors or shields
A face visor or shield may be worn in addition to a face covering but not instead of one. This is because face visors or shields do not adequately cover the nose and mouth.
