Does it really matter. The coop account isn't worth it to me but if someone wants to sit and process some multiple payments in their dead time (for want of a better word) good for them.
It matters enough that I wrote the question and am interested in the answer.
    Likewise.
The specific mechanics of how this operates would be educational.

The Amazon Platinum mastercard allows you to make debit card payments through the app. As well as earning points that are converted to Amazon gift cards, you also get a £20 gift card if approved.

The Amex app also allows debit card payments.
  • Last time I checked, Newday (Amazon and Aqua for example) issued cards would only accept five debit card payments per 30 days.

I think they have recently changed this.

I usually send debit card payments to my sainsbury card to meet requirements by cooperative bank account and Halifax reward accounts.
Weird, Sainbury's prevents me putting multiple debit card transactions on the same card immediately.
You are probably going to have to do your own hard work as publicizing the cards that do allow it, is likely to get them limited too.

Also, they wouldn't let me make a payment until the statement had been issued despite there being a balance on the account. I have not previously had this issue with any other credit card.

Phillw- the way around this is to make sure each payment amount is different - even a penny difference . So £1, £1.01 etc

I have a few Barclaycards.  These all allow for small payments (£1 min.) but as many as you like.  I also happen to have a Co-Op Rewards account so lots of debit card transaction isn't a problem.
I'm also a bit OCD which helps a bit as I like to see round figures on my balances.   E.g. £63.07 balance on my barclaycard?  No thanks, I'll pay £3.07 to make it an even £60 before I even get the statement.   :D

Off topic: For Halifax's £500 payment, I just make one payment of £500 into Premium Bonds.

in my experience, tesco CC allows you to log in to internet banking and make overpayments via debit card at any time for as little as 1p.

Yes, we pay off our Tesco CC each month using our Halifax Rewards debit card to get the £500 monthly spend and earn the reward.

Just FYI, Nationwide credit card does not allow payments by Debit Card online, but you can phone an automated system to make a debit card payment over the phone. It takes a lot longer than 30 seconds.
