So after I spent hours sorting out my late Nan's bungalow single handed (long story) and looking to start the process of moving out of my Mum's house, I'm definitely wanting to declutter not only my room but the house too.

In fairness to Nan she'd really decluttered herself and had a skip a year ago, so it was nowhere near as bad as it could have been.

Mega lot of Nan's stuff still awaiting collection from the charity I volunteer with (they are still collecting!) but I've managed to stuff it into small shed bar two small boxes in porch.

Once that's gone I need to get to the back of big shed (gulp) to retrieve some collectables I want to sell via an auction house. At the same time I will declutter (loads will have to come out before I can get to said collectables) but it was all turned out and sorted two years ago so not expecting to get rid of much. I am also storing a lot of items for charity work in there, hopefully one day they will be needed for events again!

Housewise I have a huge rug and 3 vacuums to give away - a lightweight 2 in 1 was recently purchased and can replace all our current ones.
I'm advertising one by one on a very local Facebook group that way I don't open it up to all and sundry against the spirit of lockdown.

Two boardgames went today collected by someone out for their exercise after I turned out the hall closet.

Went through some cleaning supplies and storage trolley, some went into the bin and loaded up a bag for local charity who take food bags, egg boxes etc, everything really. I drop those off in their collection trolley at local Asda.

Once Mum can get a laptop (budget models v. scarce at the moment) we will be giving away the PC + bag of spares, then PC trolley and ironing board will be going as scrap metal.

Decluttering with no car and in lockdown is a challenge but it can be done.

I also find decluttering an area once then again a little while later useful, just to see if anything else can possibly go.

    Aww thanks!
I'm used to not having a car and as such finding ways to manage without.
Sometimes that is easy and sometimes it is hard but it can be done.

I realised I need to go through gardening stuff too. Sadly I just don't have the health to do as much as I did, and hanging baskets can definitely go to a new home. Some are doubles too so really nice.

I've battled fierce direct sun for years, using many methods, before concluding last year baskets are just not viable here. The plan was to fill containers instead and move them in & out of the sun. Unfortunately due to Covid I was unable to go anywhere to buy plants, had too many disappointments by post.
    Trying again this spring!

Hi BarbCh. Thank you so much for sharing the poem it is very inspirational. I have battled my demons for most of my adult life so yes I guess I am a warrior. I have always felt insecure and under attack so I have surrounded myself with things acting as a security blanket. I find it very hard to let go of things so I will follow this thread with interest
