Lovely to see you again Dustykitten; I'm still here. Still loving the fairies in my garden.
Mr N said he had lots of strange dreams last night, but seemingly no side effects after his Covid jab which is good. He spent nearly all of today trying to grind the granite worktop so the new hob would fit in; lots of noise and dust but he isn't there yet. I spent much of the day upstairs, bravely going through old course notes and putting lots in to recycle in my quest for a clearer office. Also had my drum lesson. So when I finally ventured downstairs I had a complete choking fit over all the fumes/dust! He'd worn a mask, glasses and was working with sheets draped all over the worktop to limit the dust but I found it unbearable. Went out for some fresh air, our local IT man thinks he can repurpose my ancient laptop for use for a child who doesn't have one, so that would be great news for the child and good decluttering. It was only to the other end of the village but at least cleared my head/lungs a bit.
Nothing else to report other than did a load of washing but had to hang it on the rack indoors as it has drizzled/been foggy and damp for most of the day.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Thanks very much for the welcomes, so lovely that some of you are still here. DW is on for the night and one of the kids has washed up the other stuff. I've spent hours on finances, but have at least done my tax return now. Loads more sorting and filing tomorrow. Determined to get it all sorted once and for all, I've been working on sorting the office and the dining room for what seems like forever but the end is insight, maybe by the end of this month which would be fab before spring.
I'll try to catch up with you all and remember who is who (I never was good at that!)The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair7 -
*waves to Dusty* Hello my lovely.. nice to see you here! xxHouse is yuk.. I NEED to get the gutter looked at asap but I have no quids.. Paid this weeks bills and have £2.32 left.. water is spilling down the wall.. I am seriously considering asking the guy who owns next door if he can get it fixed and I will pay him back the full amount weekly for a few weeks.. it can't be that expensive but I simply don't have it all in one go. He is nice and approachable.. and I don't want either of our properties being damaged. I don't think I would be offended if it was the other way round.
Stinky neighbour is on day 4 of not stinking.. it's bliss.I am sick to death of being utterly freezing.. OH is moaning he is too hot (in his tshirt!) and I have the heating on 23'C, wearing thermals, a woolly jumper and my fleece dressing gown.. My body thermostat is very broken. I am also hungry! And weirdly thirsty ... might need my infrequent bottle of juice necking.Valli.. cooking at school is a bonkers idea.. even more so on party day!ASB.. Threaten them with compaints.. it took my provider 3.5 weeks to replace an 8ft piece of cable.. I utterly lost my cool and they were here in 3 hours.Dot had a bad day... I have a stress twitch on my eye which makes me more stressed.. lol.. she went to sleep just before midnight.. hopefully she will not be up at 5!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
Morning xx
Fayolle - thank you xx And well done, let them do / think/ say what they like at your old job - adopt one of my favourites sayings 'not my circus, not my monkeys' and let them get on with it.Hugs xx
ionafan - I hope you continue to improve. Go steady!! xx
The Law of Sod - they asked me to work on Monday because the previous two Mondays had been manic - and this week it was decidedly q-word shhh. What's the betting it will be a manic Friday instead? Not that A will bust a gut about it as it's her last day in the job. Shrugs: not my circus..... I've done my hours for the week. And I have an long overdue optician's appointment this afternoon. I've had problems with my right eye this week - I was concerned enough on Monday to approach the on call GP at work for advice. He said if it didn't settle down to see my optician. Concerned enough to do as I'm told then! (Don't tell anyone they might come to expect it) And rattled enough to realise I've been bonkers to neglect my eyes - sorry eyes.
I'm up, my bed is made, I've opened windows upstairs to let some air in and I've supped my brew.
Round 1 =
shower
get dressed
feed the birds
put out the recycling
WUDUPA
sort the washing
Note to self: I need petrol while I'm in town.
Have a good day. Stay safe.
Rxx

Woke up at 8:15, decided too soon to switch on R2 for my beloved Deacon Blue and then woke up at 10  I'm on training at 11
And there's no milk now, though there'll be a carton of emergency UHT I hope.

So far todayPosted eby saleVery small shop doneSorted out socks etc from yesterdays washing / dryingTake cardboard old boxes to the local scouts collection point for them to sell / recycle.Sorted out shopping receipts from last month, updated budget sheetTrying to ease up my stiff legs / back etc from yesterday's bending over to plant hedge. Now going to save up my eby money for my next project, not sure what that is but likely to be plants for the garden / remodeling of the garden (expensive) / new drive way (even more expensive) / possible a wood burner for the lounge. I used to save my eby money to buy my flight ticket each year, but that has gone out of the window / never likely to happen in the near future.Right off to do some major filing / sorting for the company I have closed down, I have to keep everything for 7 years, this I am use to, but I have to keep insurance certificates for 40 years from the date of closing the company! I'll be more than dead and gone well before then. The whole lot is going in to plastic containers then in the loft out of the way.Hugs to all xBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Up early, and dressed too as I thought the Tesco's order might be early. That'll teach me to look at my texts early..not here till 3pm...lolHave to do some more packing up of the living room - I've been procrastinating over it for too long. The way I'm going it'll be next year before we move and I want to be gone this year. I'll take the stuff to the storage unit while D is having a quiet afternoon resting. At least I'm making a start 😃Did half an hour of ironing this morning now to hoover while the dog is being walked.Weather is lovely here at the moment, blue skies but a bit nippy.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

I have had my first Covid jab, with no adverse reactions so far
In other news, this morning I have
- S&S'd kitchen and bathroom
- FUPA clean clothes and put the airers away
- tidied my bedroom
- done WMx1, so I will need to get the airers out again - anyone joining me in the hokey-cokey?
- put away the F&V delivery
- called round to pick up a church parcel from a friend (essential work visit - part of my job, but she orders the goods so they get delivered to her) though obvs I was all masked up and didn't go in the house.
Back to the ancestors until lunchtime...

Iona I hope you continue to be fine after your jab.
Piggers - hi - I had a leaky gutter which I was not aware of, it was on the back of the garage. Only noticed the damaged when the old frige freezer out there packed in and I pulled it out to get rid. The wall was sopping, and the concrete floor. I had to peel all of the paint off the wall and it took weeks to dry out (in late summer). Don't leave it! Mine was due to the neighbour and after many angry calls to the letting agent they finally came and sort of fixed it. My side seems ok, theirs's still gets soaking wet.
Valli - I don't even remember trying to pm you lol, was it on here or on FB? How long ago was it?
Polly thanks for unlurking to say Hi
Just looked at the lists, my were they always that long? Anyhow I haven't done any of it apart from one load of washing. I have pruned some more off a large crab apple tree and boys climbed up a huge tree an the bottom of the garden and sawed off a crossing branch and chopped a few logs. Oh and I cleaned out the bird feeders and refilled. Middle son was going to put up the new outside light (which I have had for about 9 months) but the drill battery was flat so that is postponed again. Finished dehumidifying the little old car which was full of mould (scrubbed all that out on the weekend) so tomorrow youngest needs to take that on a 30 minute drive as it has hardly been used since December lockdown.
Right I'm going to put the clothes on the airer and hoover and mop the kitchen floor.
Could somebody remind me what a Toots list is - is it a master list of outstanding jobs? I still have the Christmas card Toots sent to me her last Christmas and get it out every year and think of her, what a lovely soul.
