I'm still in dispute over GNE final bill. I gave "final" meter readings when GNE went into administration and have photos. However, the final bill which arrived was a work of fiction and was based on readings which made no sense. EDF has confirmed it's in dispute in a letter in April and Twitter DM in August but tumbleweed since.

I've just had a bill from EDF and the tariff is called Price Held. Its the same rates as my GNE fixed rate which is much cheaper than the current price cap. I thought they were only holding the price until the end of September so it's a very welcome bonus. Does anyone know how long they are holding the GNE rates for?
  • Did you start changing your supplier towards the end of your fixed rate or just after?

I was only 3 OR 4 months into my fixed rate when GNE ceased trading and then my account was taken over by the SOLR which was EDF and I'm still with EDF

Did you go for a new fix or expect to be on the SVR from beginning of October? What date is your bill up to?

No I just expected to be on SVR from October. Billed up to 4th Dec. Have you had a bill from them since October at the GNE rates?

Haven't had a bill from EDF since the GNE "final" bill. The estimated readings on that were grossly inaccurate and, as far as I was aware, were still in dispute. Just had a message from EDF to say the dispute was never resolved and GNE has now ceased trading completely (not sure that's correct but perhaps someone can enlighten me). I'm unsure where these leaves me as the incorrect estimates are such that I'll be double-billed for some energy.

I went for a 3 year fix with EDF so will be new rates rather than SVR.

So, I eventually got the "first bill" sorted with EDF and now got the "second bill", which was actually correct so a nice surprise in that sense at least.

Still not happy that EDF threw me off the direct debit plan I had before so it means I am paying more than I need to as sending a cheque after the bill comes in.

EDF website has a button to change to direct debit, but when I follow that through, it only facilities the change of payment method if I sign up to a fixed tariff which is at a higher rate than the price cap.  I expected that I could / should be able to stay at the price cap but still have the Direct Debit Discount.

    Is that possible?

Is it possible? Yes, I did it.
But if the website isn't letting you, you might want to try contacting CS via chat and asking them to do it for you.
