When was the last time they issued a bill?Habib2342 said:I queried this with CAB and asked if the enerey back biling rules will apply if i don't hear from GNE after 12 months of the last billing date.
Unless they cancelled the disputed bill, then the back billing wouldn't apply to that anyway as it has been billed.
Back billing covers the situation where you don't receive any kind of bill for over a year, which unbelievably has happened.

Hi- I work for EDF can i just say to everyone i'm not here to solve problems relating to bills etc or be told you dont like us, im just trying to clarify a few things for people if i can
Feel free to ask any questions relating to this that i may have missed off and ill try my best to give you the answers.
Green Network are supposed to be still taking readings from customers and updating details if people have moved out of their property. However, we have been made aware they they are not doing that today. What I would suggest is Take A photo of the meter reading and you can provide this when the SOLR switch is completed, anything can be updated once we have your account on our syste,. This will take a few weeks but you will be kept updated via Letter or email depending on your usual method of contact.
We have also been told they are not taking payments anymore, therefore any debit balances will be transferred over to EDF. There will be no late payment charges or debt follow up etc and we will contact customers confirming any balances when they have successfully transferred over.
The staff of EDF know as much information as has been published and as you can appreciate have been bombarded with queries and to be honest a bit of abuse all day, this was sprung on us this morning also.
If you have a Credit it will transfer over to EDF along with a your Direct Debit.
If you have cancelled your Direct Debit this can be reinstated when the switch is complete if you wish
If you wish to change supplier i would suggest waiting until the supply has gone to EDF as it could cause problems if you are disputing any meter readings etc
If you have an old debt with GNE then this should be dealt with by the administrators when they are appointed
Any existing complaints would not normally be taken on however we will help the best we can until we have all the information relating to it
If you manage your account online, Download the last few bills in case you need to query anything as we don't know if we will have access to this information
We don't have any information relating to the new pricing as yet.

Many thanks MISSLHA for taking the trouble to post on this forum.
I've one question, can you confirm that we shouldn't cancel our DD to GNE, and the reason for this?0

If you don't cancel the Direct debit it will automatically transfer over, it basically keeps your payments inline as it could take a few weeks for everything to transfer, obviously if people want to cancel them thats fine just when it comes to setting them back up it could technically mean you are 1 maybe 2 months behind and may cause a small debit balance in some cases which may mean a slightly higher payment. When we took over Toto customers we did the samegeorge278 said:Many thanks MISSLHA for taking the trouble to post on this forum.

GNE are no longer taking card payments- sorry i should have clarified that, however any direct debits that have collected from bank accounts will show on your bill and account and be transferred over to EDFRisco said:Hi @MISSLHA
As advised I left everything as is. I did not cancel direct debit, which has come out today. Where will this money go, as you say that Green Network Energy are not taking payment?
I have downloaded all bills and taken a screenshot of readings on Saturday.1

Got to say that I appreciate MISSLHA's comments. I find it very reassuring but a bit of patience is required. I have cancelled my DD as I would rather owe money than be owed.Je suis sabot...1

I certainly didnot and I doubt any ex YE customers did unless they started a switch then got the email and were temptedShedman said:
No. Not sure that BedrockFred did...I read it as he'd received the "stay with us and we'll give £50 credit" email as did all(most) of us that switched away. Not sure that they automatically gave £50 credit for being compulsorily transferred to SP from YE...I certainly haven't had anything. Mind you I'm still waiting for them to sort out billing, opening meter reads etc, although I've switched to Simplicity (yep...great eh!)bristolleedsfan said:Malchester said:Feel yourselves lucky with getting a cheaper tariff with EDF. When Scottish Power took on Tonik and Yorkshire Energy they hiked the prices by up to %0%Did all former YE customers get given £50 credit by SP or just some customers get given £50 credit
£50 to stay with SP would need to offer me 10 times that to even be tempted...1

Thanks @MISSLHA . I have a fairly large credit balance with GNE (£200 ish) and I'm not sure whether it's best to cancel my DD which is due to be paid on the 11th Feb. I don't want it to be paid to GNE, and I'd be happy for my credit balance to reduce a bit while the transfer to EDF goes through, but I don't want to cause any problems with the transfer.0

it won't cause any problems at all you will just need to reinstate it. the only thing I would say is check if you have a reduction for paying by direct debit as it could impact your final bill from GNE apart from that your looking at at least 4-6 weeks before the accounts fully transfer overSonOfPearl said:Thanks @MISSLHA .
