I started a switch from GNE on 26 Jan, three days before announcement was made. Will my switch still, go ahead?
I'm in the same situation as you. I think it's a case of wait and see!

I have a debit balance of £340 due to GNE, built up the first few months of the lockdown. I disputed this withm  as the bill was based on estimated as opposed to actual readings. So i think the bill should be at least £60 cheaper. I raised this with them over the summer last year but as at at the end of January 2021, I've yet to hear back from them and I have the email trail to prove I've been proactive in resolving the issue. Imagine my surprise when i found out they went bust earlier this week. However I'm assuming this doesn't mean the debt is forgiven and it will be enforced but he adminstrators when they clean up GNE's accounts. I queried this with CAB and asked if the enerey back biling rules will apply if i don't hear from GNE after 12 months of the last billing date. They said the back billing rules won't apply when debts are being chased for companies that have wound up and that it will be up to a judge to decide whether the debt will be enforced. From my end I've done everything I can to resolve the issue but if they don't want to resolve it from my end , not much I can do. I suspect this will be resolved one way or the other in the coming months.

Oh yes, you can be certain, if you owe them money, you still owe them money and they'll collect it, or it will transfer to EDF to collect...

The warm home discount option has disappeared from the home menu, how will edf know which customers have applied and are awaiting their payment ?

Yes I noticed that. I applied and it was in progress. Very strange!

Feel yourselves lucky with getting a cheaper tariff with EDF. When Scottish Power took on Tonik and Yorkshire Energy they hiked the prices by up to %0%

"We’ll calculate your bill value from the date we were appointed up to 30 September 2021 and if there is no decrease we will apply a credit to your account accordingly."
    What exactly do they mean?
