CST LAW LETTER BEFORE CLAIM

Options
I have received a letter it's actually for my son regarding a parking ticket from April 2017.
Charge £160 plus a charge of £15
My son loves in america now..  I stress over these things.
The claimant is UK Parking Control Ltd
He is stuck in america as went for work which due to corona fell through but is stuck there is a tent contract!!
If this goes to court what will happen?
Should we pay it.

He had parked on a car park which he thought was owned by Halford when he returned to the car he had a ticket.. He went back to Halford who confirmed it wasn't their car park...
What do I do?

Read this group thread you missed

If ukpc issue a court claim against the keeper , then in theory it will go to your local court

Who is the registered keeper ? You or him ?

If it's you , write to ukpc and name him as the driver under the law named POFA , giving ukpc his name and address

If it's in his name , be can write to ukpc giving them his USA address

America is out of the UK jurisdiction so they will probably give up

After 6 years they will give up anyway , so after 2023

Nobody should be paying it !!

Do not phone these companies up either , so no pay , no phone , write by letter or email only

That extra £75 is very likely to be unlawful, read lots of threads on here about it.   Why not inform the PPC that your son is abroad, give his address there.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Please answer the questions we ask, they are for a purpose, not idle curiosity. The more Qs you ignore, the more you might find regulars reciprocating.
Who is the registered keeper ? You or him ?
One of the most vital questions in private parking cases.

Miss B ..... when you read the link given by Redx, you will understand that CST are scamming you
They are just a glorified debt collector who UKPC are using them as a public convenience, a freebie service, to chase up old parking tickets.

When you see the devastation that has happened to UKPC with covid, you can understand why they are so desperate for money

Don't let him insist on paying it.

Why not get him to email them and give his address in America as his permanent address?  That gets rid of it completely as they can't pursue him.

He has to deal with it, don't you try to get involved 'on his behalf'. Obviously if there is some work to do over here, you can do it, but it must be in his name.

Get him to contact UKPC and tell them his new address, also email their Data Protection Officer (Privacy page of their website should provide you with the contact details) and require them to erase his address in the UK to which they are writing and require them to replace it with his USA address. They are legally required to do this under the DPA/GDPR laws.

If he could scan and attach a document that confirms his USA address as well, it will add further authenticity.

As above , your son contacts ukpc with new USA address and a redacted copy or copies of 2 recent utility bills , to prove it , you could scan the latest letters and email him the scans too (or take photos)

Getting it from your address to his gets your address out of the picture , plus they cannot any won't pursue him over there for a civil dispute , so if he gets letters he should file them until after the 6 years has lapsed

That is what I would tell him , to follow the instructions above

Everything said above is 100% correct

    NOTHING CAN HAPPEN
You do need to tell UKPC to confirm and tell their poodle CST they will no longer send threatograms to your address.
