Morning all,
Ne9av - that meal sounds lovely - did you get a doggy bag?
Dlb - so glad it's not chicken pox - my sister had them twice as well
Pipkin - thanks for the recipe - will try that later
Catowen - hugs - hope your LO turns up next week
Thriftlady - my kids are quite used to opening up their money boxes and finding IOUs instead. I can also relate to the larder thing - I had a huge tidy out of mine and simplified it all - but things are creeping back in. And I was supposed to be running down the freezer - but I can't fit the Christmas meat in yet!
Well, I'm sitting here with a cold, drinking tea and putting off doing some accounts for work which have to be done today. We put the tree up last night and the kids put on the decorations, which means I shall spend the next week rearranging them so that they cover the tree more evenly - instead of 3 things on 1 branch at the front and bald spots round the back.
Dh brought home orders from work for 10 jars of chutney and I have a craft evening tonight where I've been asked to bring more - so hopefully that will account for more.
Proud |Mummy moment alert - ds1 has been picked for the Y8 boys' hockey team at school and has his first match this afternoon - we're really pleased for him as his primary school didn't really take boys' hockey seriously - and he loves it - and some of the other primary schools that feed into his grammar school do take it very seriously - so he's done well to get in.
Hugs to anyone else with a cold

Hi Again Guys!!
Thanks for the well wishes for OH...he said "thanks":D
Managed to re-arrange the appointment for 2 weeks today, they did offer next week but have my pre-op assessment at another hospital:rolleyes: ...but think Im lucky to be seen so soon, thought it would be in the new year.
On third washload and OH has hung the other two outside as the winds are high but the sun has come out. This one will be out too if weather holds ok.
We are supposed to be going out with friends tonight but I have a funny suspicion that its a surprise party-just a couple of weird questions that DD has asked. Hope OH is feeling better later. Getting picked up at 7pm, so OH can have a drink.
DD's mobile phone has died, so we need to look for another for her. She is getting the bus later to save OH collecting her from school.
Hugs to all.

Morning all!
am not too good this morning. Last night DS1 had a head on car crash on the way home from work. Not sure quite what happened yet. He spent half the night in casualty but is home now with seatbelt injuries - badly bruised chest and neck etc, very shocked as are me and his Dad. It was a truly dreadful experience. Cant tell you how terrible we felt on the hour long drive to the hospital. Makes me want to cry just thinking about what could have happened to him. We now have to pick up the pieces and try and sort it all out.
Not read the thread, just cant concentrate yet, just wanted to tell my OS friends.
Hope everyone is ok. Will pop back later.
take care xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Thriftmonster Well done that your DS got picked for hockey. You never know he may play for England one day. Australia will probably beat them though.

What can I say Aussie? I was brought up in servitude to my older sister and I didn't want my children to go through the same thing.:rotfl:
Churchmouse.....We are laying bets as to what is keeping you. Post soon or your reputation will be in tatters.
And if Pink comes on here talking rubbish about a singing cat she is just hallucinating again so don't pay her any heed.
I'm really going to do some housework now.0
