SCUZZ - your poor friend; don't feel useless - you are being there for here and that will make an enormous difference to her.

THRIFTLADY - I have been known to take out a temporary 'loan' from the children. It was always for something small like their own school bus fare! I always paid them back, though - they would never have let me forget it!

PIPKIN - thanks for the biscuit recipes - no-cook food, I love it!

CHURCHMOUSE - Happy Birthday to your Sagittarian! It IS today, now, isn't it?!

DLB - glad it's not chicken pox!

I have also PM'd AMIE - I think the last time she posted was on 27th November, which is quite a long time ago, now. Hopefully, she is only having comp probs and nothing more worrying.

I've just emailed AOL (my broadband provider) because I was 'invited' to increase my speed for a further £3 per month, which I have gone ahead with because I use the internet all the time, but they have just confirmed the new arrangement and said that I would pay a 'proportionate daily amount' until the new contract starts. That bit wasn't explained in the phone call from them. I'm just checking that they don't bill me extra, as if there was no existing contract.

Anyway, off to have my breakfast - I'm starving.

    See you later,

    KathyXX

Pipkin - temperature & time for cooking?

    Sorry DG, it says 190 degrees C / 375 degrees F / gas mark 5 for 10 - 12 minutes or until pale gold.

I turn mine over half way through so that the colour is even both sides, but it doesn't say that you have to.

Scuzz you sound like a true friend :A and it is lovely that you are there for you friend at this time in her life. I hope things can be sorted in some way for her and her little one. When I made the decision to leave my DDs father, I had one friend who was there for me emotionally and I've never forgotten it, and will always appreciate the help she gave at that time.

Hope you feel better soon cheerfulness4, little miss dlb

    Morning

SCUZZ - hugs to you and your friend, what a terrible time you both must be going through
PIPKIN - you're a star, yes we need the baking times & temp
THRIFTLADY - if you need any bits & bobs posting over, just PM me!

Got the DD's christmas fayre today, getting ready today for her and the two step kids to do some homemade christmas ornaments tomorrow. I have a 4ft tree and they're going to put it up in the corner of DD's room and decorate it with nothing but HM ornaments. I think it will be precious. I've thought about all sorts of things they'll make for the tree.

take care and hugs to all who need it or want it!!!

    Good morning everyone,

Yet again, i havnt read the thread yet (will when i get back from school) so huge ((HUGS)) to whoever wants or needs one xxx

LO who was meant to be coming isnt well, so i have another day off - problem is, i was relying on this money today, and now i wont get any (not contracted yet, its 'settling in' period and i arranged that if i didnt have him, i wouldnt charge - prob a big mistake now tho!!!) so not sure what i will do now.

Already feeling a bad mum, DD lost a tooth last night, and got upset this morning because the tooth fairy hadnt been. One, i had forgotton, so not good there, but two, i dont have a pound at all, so not able to leave anything. Not sure what i will do, but will def find something tonight for her.

My mum is down tomorrow, just til Sunday - i might have to swallow my pride and mention my situation to her, but i know she is having money probs as well at the mo (her food parcels she brings have dropped in quantity big time, due to her not having much either) so dont want to bother her with my worries. We have food, milk etc, and xmas is done, so we wont starve before i next have LO (hopefully he will be well enough to come next week for his day) but if he really is poorly, and i dont get him next week, think the credit card will take a battering.

Anyway, enough drivel from me - better put a rocket up my 2s bums, we need to leave in a minute!!!

    Have a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning all :hello:

N9eav, we love Charlestown, keep walking past the Pier House but haven't made it in yet :D We should be back in Cornwall sometime in april/may so we'll definitely make it through the door after your recommendation.

Well, the kitchen and bathroom are gleaming and the washer's on. Just need to hoover now. Big day today - the Christmas decs are coming down from the loft :D

Mr tru came home from Belgium last night with all the Christmas drink and enough tobacco to last me til march :rotfl:

We've been buying saver stamps in Morrison's so the food bill will be cheapy cheap cheap this month  I keep a record of what we spend on grocery shopping, over the last year we've spent an average of £55.38 per week - this includes buying the stamps so not bad IMO :D Quite good for 4 adults but I'm aiming for £50 per week for the next year.

I've designed some valentine cards, don't know if I've got time to make a load up before Christmas, if not I'll crack on with them at the beginning of january. Also I've got some new designs for Christmas next year, along with some handmade decs. When I get organised after Christmas I'll update my Challenge Tru's House thread.

I forgot to wish last time Churchmouse DS birthday. Hopefully she has the right day. :D
PenPen It's when I reply to the thread that my box is grey? How do I change that?

Well I am a bit pi$$y atm. :D Had ONE couple of glass of wine and it's completely gone to my head. We were given the wine with that unusual hamper we were given. It didn't have a label so I have no idea what it was called or how old it was but it's really packed a punch.

Cat I really hope things improve for you. You are such a lovely person. It makes me sad to think of you in such hardship.

I think I will come back later once I've eaten something. :D Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning:hello:

Aussie...Maybe your screen is just getting old and grey.:p
PenPin....Hugs to your poor OH. Hope he's better soon.
    Dlb...I'm glad it wasn't chickenpox.
PenPen....Please do a proper post. :kiss:No one drivels more than me. :o
Catowen....Just tell DD that the tooth fairy is busy helping Santa with making her Christmas presents. I've been caught out before too. :o

Well I had a big rant last night about the state of the house and being everyone's servant. :o I put my foot down and said that , while I am happy to look after them all I will not pick up all the rubbish they leave at their backsides. From now on they can pick up their own knickers (OH included), apple cores, bits of paper. They can flush the loo themselves, pick up their towels and put the lid back on the toothpaste. They have no concept of the work that goes into Christmas so they got an ear bashing on that as well. ;)
It worked. :j OH did all the dishes last night without being asked and let me lie in this morning and ordered me to have a day off.
So I'm back in bed with the puter but will get started in a bit.
Dtwin1 is going to Grandma's for the weekend. It is the first time she will have spent a night apart from her sister since birth as Dtwin2 says she doesn't want to stay away overnight anymore. I am worried about it. :o
Just the usual round of washing, ironing and cleaning today and Pink's chicken broth for tea.

    Take care everyone
