Thanks Adrian, my wife drives the car as much as I do, usually on her own. She has many qualities and skills but using goop and a compressor would not be one of them.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

It's really no harder than just checking tyre pressures or inflating them.

Tyres on the Drive turned up today.......with the wrong tyres.

They brought normal tyres and not run flats.

The fitter told me it was a common problem as Bridgestone call both types Potenza S001 225/45R17 91W with RFT added to the run flats.

They were apologetic and have rebooked for Tuesday.

That’s not good enough is it?

Tell them you want a £40 discount for the inconvenience;...if you hadn’t been  home when they turned up you’d be charged £40 for a re-visit.

True but times are not that hard for us.  :D

In all honesty I am at home more or less 24 hours a day and the car is rarely used so I haven't really had any inconvenience.
Claim it, and if you're successful give it  to your favourite charity;...that's what I do when these things happen. Barnardos in my case, btw.   :)
    Maybe I will.

Currently Majestic Wine are my charity of choice.   :D
Fair do's;...can't argue with that. :D

Bridgestone don't seem to list RFT Potenza S001s in that size.
    https://www.bridgestone.co.uk/car-tyres/summer-tyres-potenza/s001#tyresizetable~

They list the higher-profile 225/50 as RFT, in both 94 and 98 load rating, but that's 11mm taller sidewall.
They list 225/45 in 91 and 94 load rating, both loads in W and Y speed rating, but not RFT. Although there are two 91W entries in the list... Maybe one of those is actually RFT, although it doesn't specify?

In fact, all the 17" RFTs are listed as being "warranty", rather than replacement, so probably not available through the normal supply chain. I suspect you'll have the same again on Tuesday - it might be time to decide to change brand or lose the runflat (not a bad thing...)
    Yes they do.

Adrian, (or anyone else), if I did change tyre, what other run flats would you recommend?

I do want to stay with run flats.

I would prefer to stay with the Bridgestones if possible as I have a part worn tyre from when I got a non repairable puncture on a front tyre and replaced both front tyres to keep them the same.

I kept the good part worn tyre in case I got another puncture. It is about 3 years old now and has been kept out of the sun in a black bin liner.
If you want to keep with the RFTs then I'd stick with the Potenza S001, probably the most longer lasting of the bunch.

I know that but she can't do those things either.   :D

Frankly, at 68 I am at an age when I don't want to sort out a puncture at the roadside if that can be avoided.

To be fair to her she has never owned her own car as, before we met she lived and worked mainly in London and didn't need one.

She is very good at many things but nothing much mechanical or technical.

When the tyre manufacturer don't list it, that suggests either the supplier are wrong or it's old stock.

The manufacturer's website generally doesn't always list OEM supplied tyres. I know for a fact that these are readily available from most suppliers.

Except, in this case, they do list "warranty" specs.

As I said originally, and has been quoted here, the most likely in this instance is that it's actually the manufacturer that's wrong, with one of the two 91W actually being RFT just not shown as such. Generally, though, it's probably discontinuation...

Just shows how incorrect the Bridgestone website is, not a single 18" S001 RFT listed and non for BMW either.
