Cue a game of Best-Before-Bingo - she beat me with a sachet of Coleman's Pepper sauce mix BBE1995 - yes the 20th century. It even beat the box of blancmange powder I had (BBE 1998!) - good job they are just powders

Thank you elsiepac for doing this thread. As I've said before it really does help keep us accountable, even if we blow the budget. Our February budget is going to be £150 again. The month goes 1st to the 28thThis is for two adults, my OH and I, and a chinchilla. Includes all food and drink (except alcohol, though I am doing no alcohol for February), cleaning products, toiletries etc and all chinchilla items (food, hay, sand, treats etc.).
We are currently over by £11.88 for January, no more shops are planned before the end of the month - this is a win as still £100 less than the monthly average last year.
£0/£150.
£150 left.
A&C delivery Monday currently at £12.75 and we have a medium fruit and vegetable box from O~box coming Monday-Tuesday (overnight) that is £15.99. I'm sure another £40-£50 will be spent on Monday on the bulk items we go through through the month so by the 2nd around half the months budget will be gone...
Sounds dire but it seems to work best this way.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy3 -
@Doom_and_Gloom - we do similar - usual times we shop twice in the SM - with one for store cupboard refresh and the other for fresh. Now however we are managing with one monthly SM shop (good stores and plenty of freezer space) plus a F&V refresh from the market (today), together with milkman and eggs arriving on the doorstep. I used to do store cupboard at the beginning of the month with at least two or three omissions because of OoS. Now I just have to lump it!
By the way Proctor and Gamble have confirmed they have stopped making the Ariel gel with a touch of Febrese. It was my go-to for husband's sweaty tops. I haven't found anything else that gets rid of his very strong smelling perspiration - they suggest Lenor but I use as few chemicals as possible so reluctant to add another purchase. Any recommendations? We don't live near enough for many SM to be viable so either a brand, Morries, Co-op or on-line pleaseSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Morning Peeps,
well I hit the floor running yesterday when I went shopping. I realise now why we probably had so much money left at the end of the month. We really have been eating from the freezer and the fridge hid no treats at all. So I did 3 stores shops Ffoods, th'aldi and Hbargain. (only toothpaste in the toiletries bought) total 97.79 out of the £200 budget and yet to purchase the dog food at 19.50.
Will see how far this gets usAs we really don't need any toiletries for some time this is going to help hone things in a little better and create some space. Time to get the PON books out and start again meal planning.

Hi
Could I join too? I have just retired (finally!) and I now have much more time to keep track of spending etc. My budget for February will be £300 to feed 3 adults (2 of whom are working from home which means 3 meals a day, 7 days a week!)
My spending last month was £375 so this month I am going to look at what we buy and try to trim off the £75 to start with.

March 2021 GC £266.41 / £280.00
