I do not see us having any real freedom until at least Q3, with limitations on what we do get back until probably Q2 2022, and that is if we do not have issues with variants which evolve to sidestep the vaccines.
I would like to see family, friends, get back to normal, I think unfortunately we are a long way off and with the dire economic situation we now face a 2019 normal is probably years away.2

Currently have a back log of gigs being rolled forward. One has just been rescheduled for April 2022.JamoLew said:I just want to get back to seing live music again0

Seeing my Aunty at Nan's funeral last week and being unable to hug her, as my Uncle died 3 weeks after Nan, was so incredibly hard. She lost her mother then her husband. My cousin who lives with her gave her one for me but it wasn't the same.
So a hug for her is definitely at the top of my list.0

Likewise with the backlog - but ouch on the 2022 - mind you in some bizarre way, last year seems to have flown byThrugelmir said:

I think the govt would make a huge mistake if they didn't allow for some sort of summer - a respite - when the rates are low anyway. This winter resurgence (second wave, call it what you will) was always going to happen, irrespective of what happened last summer. With a working vaccine now, we need to get people out, get some sunshine (hopefully) and fresh air and loosen the restrictions. Covid isn't going away, we have to learn to live alongside it and take advantage of life when it's low - the summer - and if necessary tighten up when it's high - winter - as we do with other respiratory illnesses.

Regardless of when the lockdown ends, as soon has my mum and Dad have the vaccine (and waited the 3 weeks or whatever for maximum benefit), I will be going home, to spend a night or 2 with them, give them a hug and eat a meal together, and stay up late playing cards, board games, watching a film or whatever. They will have spent almost a year with no visitors, i am not making them wait any longer - its cruel to expect people to have been shielding to stay in lockdown after getting the vaccines, when they finally feel safe to go out or see their children and grandchilren1

I only want to do one thing this year, go on annual alpine road trip. I managed this last year and hope to be able to do this in 2021. If not, I have not expectations and no plans.
