Happy 18th Birthday to Fayolles DD, not the best time for a celebration xx
Snow here too x
No flying done, as of yet7 -
Thank you for all the birthday wishes for DD. I will pass them on and see if I get an inquisition from her about talking to people I have never met...*rolls eyes**!
DH has been tasked with pushing the snow off the cars as it is starting to show signs of melting slightly. Still a few inches to go though, so not intending on necessarily going anywhere, but it gets him outside!
I have hung the wet washing up indoors - flying at its most strenuous. I have however managed to strain my wrist (old injury from years back) so I have the wrist brace on, and that has relieved me from further fluttering.
Iona - that is a lovely idea about the mini cakes for DH’s z00m birthday. When I eventually dig out my inherited family history papers and read through them, I might trouble you for some advice on where to go next with them. It won’t be anytime soon, so no panic! X
Mademoiselle - thank you for being there x, and you made me smile with your French mishap story. We finished watching Spiral last night, and I have to say that I could not have made it through the plot without the subtitles. Rusty is not the word.
The sun has just come out - it looks beautiful but, boy, is it cold out there.8 -
Not a stress free day here I'm afraid as DHs cousin has died suddenly this morning at the age of 40.The dogs still needed a walk and Poppet enjoyed skating across the frozen flooded fields. I have rage cleaned through pretty much the whole house.Spend less now, work less later.9

Ma'am (can't be bother to type the lot and calling you 'Madam' is very risqué.. so you can be ma'am like the queen!) .. 'sheet' said with even the slightest hint of French accent is very faecal sounding though.. poor lady, I bet she was mortified! We live in a very studenty area and there are lots of international students and we've heard it all as the students learn. Their English is so much better than my attempt at any of their languages.. I can ask for a bag, a bra, a kettle or a bus stop in German and put worms on the table in French.. languages is not high on the priority list for education here, it's better now but starts too late. My friend in Spain, her children were learning other languages from being 2! They are teaching them to sign at the girls primary school, because they are not allowed to sing they are signing the hymns in morning worship (church school) so Dot in particular is picking that up amazingly fast.. I have a cousins child who is non-verbal so it will be great should we ever see her.
Anyway.. Hazel has done a gift in the hallway, again! Polly will not use the door to go in and out so uses the kitchen window.. but.. the window has developed a squeak when we open it which scares her and she runs away.. are all cats this stupid or just mine?
I'm getting a new to me table this afternoon, very exciting.. It may, in time be swapped for my mothers same but smaller one but for now it is going in the back room and will be for the girls to do their school work on, I can see this ridiculousness going on for another year or 2 and they will need somewhere to get stuff done. It does require me to tidy the back room too which desperately needs doing but I don't want to do.
I need to amend my second Tesc0 order (wednesday delivery I think) .. the last one filled the freezer this one it juice and cereal and more of the bread/milk and other stuff we go through at an alarming rate.
OH made a cuppa so I will slurp that, feed the girls (to a passing wild animal) and crack on. OH can deal with Hazels gifts and be bossed about. DW, WM, TD and the airers need shuffling about.

Well I have done my best for MIL; the bright colours she loved and the two flags to reflect her dual citizenship. Whether anyone will actually be there tomorrow to see the flowers if the current snow rate continues is anyone's guess. Apologies if photo too big.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.12

Afternoon
Snowed until lunchtime here, now it’s cold and icing over.... we had a short walk while it was still fresh, was quite pleasant although v cold. Lunch eaten, laundry on airer and load of towels put through, they are currently going through the drier. Work prep done, I’ve had a pleasant couple of hours with my latest book, feet up, cuppa in hand and all nice and cosy.
Sending more hugs and supportive vibes to all those in need. Catch you all on the new thread xx8 -
(((Hugs))) to Jazee and MrJ xx
Your flowers are lovely, Narc0(((Hugs))) to you and Mr N - I will be thinking of both of you both and your B-i-L tomorrow xx
I found another box on the bookshelves which I thought was nothing to do with family history - turns out that it contained some rubbishy papers but also lots of certificates and wills. More sorting underway, but I'm looking forward to starting the actual filing - is that sad? It's nice to feel that I am making progress at last. I have also taken Rosie for her walk in the snowy wonderland of the covert - she was very happy9
