DAY 15 - Without Norton Anti Virus afer purchasing licence. Providing that code number to Norton , Norton stating they could add it and other matters.
Today started with Microsoft taking conrol of my device to perform what it said was an update which it did then complete only to undo taking just over an hour to complete and clearig up what ever it didnt do . I am curious why this chose the time it did to do this and still personally think it is harvesting data. There Norton still shows Norton Has expired but I have purchased a years use of thier product Gloria asked whether my 12 months offered free was in addition to my licence . this was not stated Gloria it was only stated it was a one time offer. Hence why we need this sorted as it is an idiotic situation which is causing a lot of waisted effort .

We are now aware from the ICO that Norton Life Loc London has not been registered or paid
up with the ICO under the registration reference ZA161008 since 13/01/2020
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
As you all was aware I asked Norton and you all :a) Get my puchased licence working .
b) Prevent this sillyness from occuring next year. When I purchase thier product again from a shop next year.
c) Bring Norton Life Loc in to 2021 regulations.
d) Ask if anyone has seen a mandate from the banks to use thier products i.e bank cards for anything other than point of sale. Which Norton Life Loc as you have indicated are using for a non prescribed use in bank terms and conditions of use.

Why would they offer me something free I have already purchased !

Before this is locked I will retell you what you have heard before.
Go to your Norton account, input your card details, use the free year, set up a reminder in your calendar for a year from now, and put your code in from the one you have bought.
Put a reminder in your calendar a year from then and buy another code from a shop, and carry on.
If you keep posting the same things after they are getting locked you will end up being banned7 -
Max a friendly warning to you. If you persist in spamming the board with this you will find yourself banned.3

It only "took control" of your computer because you had allowed this by not setting up your update options.
Yes, Microsoft will collect some data from your computer (and this is something that you agreed to by installing and using their operating system) but exactly how much depends on your Windows privacy settings and this is what you may need someone to show you how to configure.3 -
Hello again Max2010,I'm looking at the photo of your Norton screenshot and it looks like Norton has sent you a message (the envelope to the left of "Sign In" on your screenshot) - maybe they are telling you more about the free subscription there? Your screenshot seems to show that your computer is still protected and your Norton protection updates are current, even though your paid subscription has expired, so at least you still have some antivirus protection running.Have you tried these Norton forums? People there might be able to give you some more advice.I hope you can get things sorted out.1

Thanks Gloria , Pollycat
Well If you look upon the MS Message board your will find a cataloge of install uninstall install uninstallinstall uninstall install uninstall inistall uninstal. e.tc you get the point . Reporting to MS does nothing serving desist notice does nothing . I dont believe its being used for the reason you all think https://youtu.be/C-vIO0yNVoo Quite frankly I believe its a sham. nothing sensible came from NortonLifeLoc yesterday either . Why does Microsoft need to cleen up what did it do that it needed to clean? As it didnt provide an update :

MaxI didn't say anything about MS (Microsoft).I've not commented on your 'issue' with MS doing updates and 'taking control of your computer'.Earlier this week, I did exactly as suggested by DiddyDavies about the MS update. I had no problems at all. So I don't need to look at the MS message board. But then again, I'm not big into conspiracy theories.I gave you a link to MSE i.e. MoneySavingExpert article about free anti virus software which may or may not be of interest to you.0

If for some reason that update fails ( this can happen for a number of reasons such as corrupted data, lack of disc space etc), the system needs restoring back to how it was prior to the attempted update and this is what the cleaning up will be.0 -
MaxMaybe you would be better asking your questions on this board:
