gotta do mine at my desk in work this coming thursday!
I went with the virgin recommend RAT tester (prenetics)
The website says its a video conference thing whilst u do the test... (£28)
The pack u get says u gotta do test and upload photo and wait 3hrs for a response...
The email reply when asking is it video or photo, i got told it would be a zoom call to do the test *and upload results also ...
Happy days !
Flying to SanFran then driving down to Vegas, time to hit that wonder wall on the VA plane!!

Thank you for all the updates and reports, I love reading them to see what we can add to our list and what it's like at the moment.
On countdown to our trip now, just under 70 days to go! This has been our delayed trip and is looking a lot more promising this time around (fingers crossed).
We have the hotel booked through mlife which I'm glad we booked when we did as the prices have rocketed since, I still check the prices as I thought they'd improve as we got nearer but they're actually increasing! The hire car we have booked through Virgin as it seemed the best deal for us.
I'm hoping the testing will stop by the time we go but will check out your recommendations in case.1 -
I fly friday with VA .....
If i got it right, we gotta do a RAT test teh day before we fly, then use virgins FlyReady website to upload a copy of the certificate we get to say were negative, then we can check-in online, and i think thats it, think,..................

Ah, not doing it home, so we might still be ok then. But still, no harm in pre-booking I suppose
I dont know that it is hard to get an appt, not sure you will get an appt that you could cancel as all the online ones you need to order and pay for the kits before you book an appt AFAIK, that may be different if you want to physically go somewhere
Oh, didn't realise it might be hard getting an appointment! Thanks for the heads up, might see if there is one you can cancel free of charge. Not going until the 25th May, and based on how quickly the mask mandate was lifted, it is still hope right?
I was hoping the same, but think its to late in the day , for them to change now, so booked mine for a time I want rather than wait , we should fly 18th
It is a right pain, still hoping it will be scrapped soon in time for our May tripStuieUK34 said:I fly friday with VA .....

I am using Breathe assured and I wanted an appt as early as possible the day before we fly as I am working that day and dint want to leave it till i got home,, so booked the 8am appt
I know the airlines keep saying it should be scrapped in a matter of weeks but that may just be wishful thinking on their partI agree, it is most likely a bit of wishful thinking for all of us....

Have they introduced another test that I’m unaware of ?The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Rapid Antigen Test. Hence RAT.1

Wow never heard that one before. The only one I knew was an LFTThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

have a great holiday1 -
Have a great time Stuie! Your trip reports are always epic, and cannot wait for this one
17 days until it is our turn, just need to attend a wedding first. Still not sorted our tests out, two trips to the US since December last year. Previously, the testing fitted nicely in with our plans. But staying on the south coast, and the nearest testing place being miles away, it looks like an early morning test at Heathrow before our flight. Not sure how comfortable I feel about that!
For anyone considering fly-drive from LA, worth noting that the additional driver fee no longer applies (some exceptions). But since January 1, 2022, car rental companies in California are allowed to charge for additional drivers, provided that the additional driver isn’t a parent, spouse, co-worker, child, sibling, or grandparent.
Also, remember, not just anyone can take the wheel. The additional driver needs to present a valid driver’s license and in addition be listed on the contract.More info here: https://blog.autoslash.com/all-about-additional-driver-fees/amp/
In Nevada, the amount is capped.(f) For any authorized driver in addition to the short-term lessee but shall not, except as otherwise provided in this paragraph, charge more than $10 per full or partial 24-hour period for such an additional authorized driver. The monetary amount set forth in this paragraph must be adjusted for each fiscal year that begins on or after July 1, 2008, by adding to that amount the product of that amount multiplied by the percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index West Urban for All Urban Consumers (All Items) between the calendar year ending on December 31, 2005, and the calendar year immediately preceding the fiscal year for which the adjustment is made. The Department shall, on or before March 1 of each year, publish the adjusted amount for the next fiscal year on its website or otherwise make that information available to short-term lessors.

Here is a review of the Jockey Club Air B+B on the Strip. I have seen this place and always wondered what it was. I expected loads of little chaps to be staying there.
