Tacos el Gordo are very popular. We have had them a couple of times and they are ok, maybe a bit greasy. I don’t think they have any veggie options, but I may be wrong.Have a look in the Peppermill if you’re passing again. It’s quite retro and they do large portions of traditional American food. They also have the Fireside Lounge, which is lit with neon and has a retro vibe too.1

Hey guys...
Although i am x3 jabbed and had covid in November, am i right to think i gotta do one of those identical free RAT testing kits via a shop/video conference or at the airport thing to get a certificate to show that i ain't a zombie in order to travel to the US ??Guessing these are between £12 upwards , depending on where i get these from ?0 -

If you weren't triple jabbed you wouldn't be allowed to enter the USA at this time. Your infection goes for nothing as it's over 3 months ago, so don't think they accept that as an expectation of immunity. Don't think you get a certificate showing you're not a zombie though.2 -
Update on the last few days.
Sunday - we had a few hours at the pool in the morning and then got ready and took a Lyft down to NYNY so that we could walk most of the strip back, with food and drinks along the way. Wasn't long before we were at the Bellagio conservatory (which was very nice, and quite different from our usual September trip). Well, we also randomly bumped into nvh in the conservatory and stopped for a chat! Hope you both enjoy the rest of your trip, sounds fun!
So then we headed across to Margaritaville, the 3rd floor Landshark Lookout for a drink. We only had one and then it was closing, this must have been around 430pm. Think they just close that bar if it's too quiet, or cooling down. Weather was lovely up there and we had a table in the sun for half an hour or so. It's quite well priced, $7 for various drinks including Margaritas and some well drinks and beers, but they have bigger beer cans (is it 24oz?) for $8. Although this was at a happy hour type of time, this deal is actually all day. Probably 7 days too. Nice in the right weather, but not sure I'd be able to sit up there mid summer in full sun!
So then we headed north again, and into Canaletto for a drink. They had a happy hour also, $8 drinks, and this time the barman said the house wine included prosecco (wasn't told this the other night we were there). We then headed back up to Resorts World, as we had a $75 F&B credit, so we decided to have dinner in Brezzo. A pasta and glass of wine each set us back nearly $90, so prices are relatively high in the proper restaurants now. Wine started at $15 per glass. We then finished our slot club sign up as we went to the room and got our passports (these are needed to sign up here for some reason). $25 credit....this is unusual, you have to play a couple of dollars, then go to an electronic kiosk, do a wheel spin, then you get 25,000 points (or more if you are lucky). Husband managed to change this to slot credit on a machine, but mind is still on my card and I believe this is also F&B credit, if I can work out how to use it.
Monday - we had an hour and a half at the pool and the wind was starting to pick up and there was an announcement to close the pool area. Up to the room and had a bit of time to spare so we sorted some shopping, removed tags and boxes etc, got it ready to pack. Sorted receipts etc and tidied up. Then over to Wynn buffet. We arrived just after 2pm, so though we'd be through by 3pm for lunch price, but annoyingly the queue didn't more from 245pm and we asked at 3pm about price and were told it would be $65 plus tax as after 3pm. Annoying that we had queued and wasted time, as we definitely wouldn't get value at that price being vegetarian, and it was also listed as 'gourmet dinner' which in our experience was the weekend option before, where they added truffle to the mac cheese and mash, added bacon to the brocolli etc, so this was seeming like a really bad idea and we left. Went over to Maggiano's and sat in the bar area and had a nice selection of food - a fab salad, breaded mozarella and of course a happy hour flatbread (and a cocktail). Over to Buddy V's for a drink, then had a bit of cake from the cake shop opposite. The cake was amazing! Headed into Venetian casino and played slots and actually did ok, plus good drink service. Too good in fact, to the point I said I'm going to need to get out of here haha. Headed back to the hotel quite early.

Tuesday was cold and windy so we went to Summerlin. Took a Lyft to TJ Maxx around 10000 West Sahara, then walked round to shops at Red Rock, including the ones on Charleston Blvd, opposite the front entrance of RR. Back down to Downtown Summerlin, a quick look in RR casino (buffet has gone!), and then to Maggiano's for dinner. Got Lyft back to Sahara.
Wednesday we went to Fashion Show mall as it took a while to warm up, then went to pool. Over to Peppermill for HH as had never been. Then onwards to Segundo Sol for HH including some food. Food was ok, not great. Then walked down to Chandelier bar, which was too busy, so headed back to hotel for a drink in Alle on 66 (Crockfords, Resorts World). Lovely view up there down the strip. Really nice bar.
Thursday was a pool day and then again to Peppermill for a starter and a drink each. Down to Canaletto for pizza ($10 happy hour pizzas), and then another walk around. Played some slots and also the horse track (like the old Sigma Derby at MGM, but more modern) at Resorts World. Did ok in the casino and headed back to room as was checking out Friday.
Friday was just a quick visit to the pool, then checkout at 11am. Had time to kill so went for pizza at Mulberry Street in the hotel. Lyft to airport, and now at Heathrow awaiting our connection.
All in all a good trip. Felt safe covid-wise, but not feeling very safe at Heathrow. Quite busy and lots of coughing. Was also aware of coughing on the flights (don't have to test to fly US to UK, or within US), so I guess this is a bit of a risk. Fingers crossed all will be ok.6 -
can I get proof of vaccines from the NHS website ? And do I need to add them to any other info?Wife is just recovering from Covid ( in her 10th day) I still haven’t had it so am now going to be nervous for the next 27 days before we are due to fly !!Just booked tests with breathe assured £24 each via link from BA website1
-
Yes you can get them from NHS website. You will need your NHS number to log in. They will send you an email with a link to your vaccine records.1
-
on the note of tests,
IF i read it right, we dont need to take tests to fly home, only to fly out ?
1 -
Correct, and you don’t have to fill out a PLF either. Also face masks are not obligatory on flights to and from the USA it’s been been announcedThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.1
