first layer of paint stripper applied to the two sills upstairs I want to paint. So that's a tick for the Toots list. I also want to do the sill in the living room but I thought I'd see how good it is first. All the varnished sills are scratched (due to cat activity).
Rest of veggie chilli portioned up - I will probably freeze one; the other will be my work lunch on Friday.
Now to do some work work.

I have finished the online course and had something to eat.
Cleaned the downstairs toilet. Folded clothes from the TD.
Now to find my mojo!!!!9 -
Final load in TD, WU done, DW on, downstairs toilet & basin cleaned. I did the meeting with the Council (teams, not z00m). It wasn't long. My microphone doesn't seem to be working, so I just listened. LA are paying funding if we are open for all (I am), even the parents decide to keep the children at home. They say this is the safest place for them, and the right thing to do - and I agree! That has put my mind at rest!
I don't think I am going to achieve my 8k steps todayI don't need to go out anywhere, and I am giving the dog a rest day because he is hobbling a bit. I may have to dust off the wii fit!! I am going to clean the upstairs sink & toilet, to burn some calories! Then have another cuppa and look at the post. I have so much paperwork & admin, but feel bad just sitting down all day!

I've cleaned out Sweetie and given his drinker a good scrub. I decided to polish his mirror as a final touch and the blasted hook holding it on snapped. Brittle with age I suppose. I have a few other budgie mirrors/ toys but Sweetie is very timid and treats anything new in his cage as a source of danger. I've sticky taped the hook together after a fashion but not sure how long it will last. And I feel awful as Sweetie was so good while I was cleaning his cage- whistling and chirping away and not skitting about. And I broke his favourite thing. I could cry....it doesn't take much these days. Get a grip woman!!!!
That's me done for the day.

Well that didn't last 5 minutes. Mirror dropped and frightened him. He is now sat with his head on one side trying to work out what happened. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
I'm going to try the new mirror. I may be a while

Hope Sweetie takes to his new mirror Round.
The day is done here. But last surface in the kitchen has been cleared, sorted and cleaned. All outstanding items have been rehomed, binned or put in charity box. I love the clear surfaces, hopefully it will stay that way and will now be easier to keep clean. Of course the inside of all the cupboards and drawers still need to be sorted but that's another level.
I have nearly done 10k steps today and more importantly have moved 9 out of 9 hours! I really need to get rid of some weight and know that exercise is the key.
Off to find something I can do for dinner tonight.9 -
Another day of sticking to the list!
Wishful Wednesday ~ Hall, Stairs and Landing!
Level One...
Tidy everything you can see when the front door is open! Actually not too much as it's a small hall.
Level Two...
Dust and deweb.. dnon't forget lightbulbs and shades! Eek, that made the whole hall lighter!
Scrub front door.. inside and out! Not sure about scrub; our front door is mainly wood and glass but I gave it a rub.
Polished the hall mirror.
Level Three...
Empty and declutter the cupboard under the stairs.. you do not need the junk that has been in there for a million years! Luckily not an area that gets too bad; we need access to the meters so can't leave stuff in the way.
Declutter the floors and vacuum them.
Empty Vacuum cleaner, wash filters and clean brushes once you have finished hoovering... leave to fully dry before rebuilding machine! No sorry have just finished and it is raining and dark - maybe next time.
Sorted hats/gloves, all now either in hall unit drawer or in one basket on hall shelf. Polished hall unit.
The other main things we did today were MIL-related; we collected her things from the care home (bit chaotic there but as it seems they have sadly lost 4 residents this time and have some staff off sick/isolating, I can't complain). Mr N spent the first long phone session with the celebrant. We both then went through the draft eulogy BIL had written (me firmly with my English teacher's hat on) and added in Mr N's ideas; sent it all to celebrant and BIL to comment on.
Had a chat with my Mum; she felt a bit ropey this morning after yesterday's vaccination but is now fine. Mentioned seeds to her in case she wants to add on to my order.
Drum practice next, after I've dealt with a few more emails.
Hugs Dancemum.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
The first mirror - which was large and gaudy was not a success. Sweetie just sat in a different place to usual and went very quiet. So I'm trying a smaller, less colourful mirror - it doesn't have a bell but it has twirly bits and a ball to wobble. Sweetie began by being curious about this one. I could tell that he wanted to investigate but daren't. And he's been moving around and slowly getting nearer and nearer to it - until finally getting near enough, and brave enough, to nibble it. Ahhh - he's now eating - I can relax ...
I'm worn out lol,

Hi all
Ah Round hope Sweetie is still coping with the new mirror.
I had a really bad headache yesterday so was in bed early, but didnt sleep particularly well though. Busy day at the paid stuff and I am back soon for a meeting. I did manage a brisk walk with DS across the frozen moors at lunchtime though, good for lifting the spirits, I even managed to negotiate the stepping stones over the beck without falling in!
I have given the kitchen a good scrub including the cupboard doors, floor needs doing, DH has hoovered the LR. House is fairly tidy, one load of washing to go over the airer in a bit. I have got a bit lost with my mealplan this week and need to get back on track.

second layer was applied and has now been scraped off with special scraper which I bought at the same time.
Washed off with one of my trusty dirty job cloths (cut up old towel). I think it's going need a scrub with a scrubby thing, and then maybe a gentle sandpapering. There is no rush though. I can take my time - telling myself this really - patience and preparation done properly will make the finished painting so much better.
