Cheers ppp! I got a bag of 48 frsoted raspberries and blackberries for £2.50, and bought 4 of the cherries for 15p each. But I reckon the ribbon I got was a bargain :j

  • Mmmmm...cake. I love seeing the pictures!

I am still on with the bouquet idea - I have got until March (Mother's Day, Mum's birthday and Grandma's birthday) so I am collecting bits and pieces, albeit slowly! I just thought you might like to know, I picked up a great item in Tesco today (bargain bin shelf - obviously!). I tried to post a photo but couldn't work out how to.

They are called 'Bathing Roses' and it is basically a rose that you break into petals and throw in your bath water. The new generation bath pearl, perhaps?

I thought they were great as I was going to buy a couple of artificial roses to add to the bouquet anyway but these are useful for the receiver of the gift as well as pretty. I bought a pack of 6 large lilac roses for £2.80 (half price) and a pack of four small white ones for £1. Well, okay, I bought two packs of each, to be completely honest! I don't think that is 'cheap' particularly but they are quite nice and just exactly what I need to aid the illusion.

I read this thread on Thursday and bought a black a bright pink and a white flannel today to have a go... Can i just ask, how do you stop the cakes from unravelling?

once you have them in the case they
should stay in place, but you can use a
straight pin or a piece of sellotape.

Those are lovely, where did you get them? At a florist? Never even thought of going there. And the price is reasonable,
Sorry to hear about your bad news savvy ((((hugs))))

I had an email on Friday saying my cases had been shipped, so hopefully get them this week!! I am itching to get started..

    wow they look amazing

    she says on the thread

It's just regular melt and pour glycerin soap. There scent strawberry and creams, mint vanilla, buttercream, and chocolate

I think she has poured wax into a cake case
and then piped soap from a piping bag.

has anyone here ever used this type of
    melt and pour soap

Wow I have been following this thread closely, I am having problems finding flannels round by me....
Any way I love this idea, they look goog enough to eat.
Anyone got any ideas how to do these.?

    Thanks

Thanks for the hugs, it's been a trying couple of days.

My god that is taking ages for those cases! I can totally empathise with you tho, usually it's me in that position

I got the fruits here, at the moment they have a 50% off sale, so that's why the berries were cheap, the cherries are that price all the time. Trouble is the place is rammed so it's easy to miss things in there, and then other things distract you! I kept seeing things that were really cool, but my house isn't big enough.............and having to tear myself away, and I'm not even a flower type of person, more of a tomboy!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Was just having a mooch on google and came across these, could look good in the bouquets, AND have a purpose afterwards by jazzing up your bathtime ;)
