I've already ordered a couple of these from dealextreme (approx £1.35 ea). If they arrive soon I'll gently unwrap one and confirm how they constructed it. Having said that, it looks like yours are turning out great the way you're already doing them!

I was going to order some myself
when they arrive could you show
us a pic of what they look like ?

It would be interesting to see
    what they are like.

still waiting on my cake cases

I found some silver card to tide
me over so I can get an idea of
how this may look when finished.
If the cases dont come in time
I have somthing to fall back on.
I got some straight pins with pearly
    tops.John Lewis £1.49.Discovered later
that poundland are doing a sewing
kit with cottons etc with these pins
as part of it for a £1. so will take mine
back and get the ones that are in
    poundland.

The cherry is a £1 tree dec from Primark
that when you snip it with scissors is just
a pile of beads, each one a tiny hole at one
end so you can thread it with cotton or wire.
if you look at the pic of the bowl there is a
    fair amount for a £

my cup cases arrived so I have tried one
out just to see how they might look,
they have worked out around 8p each.
my nieces are due up so we will have a go
at doing the rest between us.

Jadeben the only reason we did not use
bath pearls was because we could not
figure out a way of setting them in
place on the top of the cake, also
the cheapest localy was 30p each.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Here is my first attempt at a slice of christmas cake, I am thinking of giving these to my work collegues? what do you think? do they look real -ish? Or just like a flannel with a ribbon around it? IYSWIM? I have looked everywhere for red bath pearls and I was told they are not fashionable anymore...
so I came across these red chocolates in boots. The flannels are 20p in Tesco
Now that I have uploaded the image, it doesn't look very much in focus, sorry
