they are nice rosekitten, are they just pompoms on top??

Yes they are pom poms,I had a pair
of fluffy socks here the cream & brown
striped ones I bought in Primark for a £1
A couple of weeks ao when we had all that
really cold weather I wore them to keep my
feet warm. Each sock has two swinging pom
poms on them i cut one of the sets off.Left
the dord on and just poked it into the centre
on the sock cake,it looks quite effective. But
you could use the regular pom poms just stick
them on with a sticky dot or pin into place.

By the way if anyone is wondering why my cake cases
looks crumpled its because this is my practice case
I have one large and one small case just to try out
things in if it works I put them in a neater new case
saves wrecking good cases if its not going to work
out or needs to be modified.

Managed to get some towels on BOGOF from Argos so decided to try my
hand at towel cakes. Quite pleased for my first attempt.
Just hope they sell on Monday at the charity stall.
Priced at £5.00 each. Probably cost about £2.00 each to make.

fesdufun - They look brilliant !:T

I've had a go at a couple of small ones using flannels, a piece of holly in the middle of the top and ribbon round the edge. Hadn't thought of doing a big one. Got a white towel upstairs...........think I might have a play with that tomorrow.

dont forget to check out the christmas decs
for things that look like cherries to top your
cakes, remember this one from last Christmas ?

The cherry is a £1 tree dec from Primark
that when you snip it with scissors is just
a pile of beads, each one a tiny hole at one
end so you can thread it with cotton or wire.

If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

Thank you so much rosekitten for showing all the fab ideas on page 1 of this thread. I wish I'd discovered MSE yonks ago! Everyone - please ignore my plea yesterday - I've got more than enough ideas to be going on with! Sorry for being 'thick' - it's taking ages to work out what all the abbrev's are! I hope it will all start to make sense soon.
