  • Hi guys

Well I've sat and read this thread from the beginning (took about a week) and what a year it's been and haven't you all been busy bees! I'm very impressed.

I felt inspired to make a sock muffin for my BFs niece who's 12. Went to look for some nice fluffy socks from Primark but not sure what size to get her. Should I get childrens which only seemed to go up to age 10 or would she fit in adults which start at size 3 (I know it depends on what size feet she has). Does any one own a 12 year old that could advise on the best ones to go for? I don't have children and haven't the foggiest!

    Cheers

    Sorry hellbell cnt help.

I could not find any flannels today, I think they might be a shortage lol. I will have to go look in pound stretcher for some.
 Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.

  • Hi, I brought them (I thought they were big ones, as they also do brown ones but which were smaller), i can't for the life of me get 2 flannels in, i even tried using thin ones and it still didnt work. 1 flannel looks ok but its a bit of a squash, you don't stand a chance with the socks. how ever they look pretty!

Can anyone reveal a good source for these? I'd reallylike to find some of the spotty ones you can see in the finished cupcakes on eBay but I can't track them down. Pretty please?? :o
  • I have dipped in and out of this thread for some time, never posted but always kept an eye out... so decided for some inspiration to read the whole thing....
was half way through and god help me the bloody electric went off!

anyway, just popping on to say Thanks to all of you with your ideas and instructions, this is the BEST thread on mse and i have made loads of things from it,
My OH and I have a little business of homemade cards and cakes and I have expanded it with cupcake muffins, nappy cakes and now snowman soup!
im desperate to make a reindeer but cant find any dark brown flannels, and i live nowhere near any good shops!
im sat here like a complete nutter surrounded by curling ribbon, cello bags of different shapes, size and patterns, wrapped muffins, rolled nappies and flannels.... madness!

oh... and can anyone point me in the right direction for magic reindeer food instructions?
i love it! :D EDIT - dont worry... found it!

Yikes. I love these and HAVE to make some for Christmas :D I want to make 4 sock cupcakes, but in men's colours - will they look boring/weird in navy or black?? Any ideas for the 'cherry' for the top for Men's ones???

    Mary43-
How did you manage to make a case from your scrapbook paper - did you have a template?

No - I just cut it by the size of the socks rolled up then shaped it a bit round the top. Did try to stick a bottom on it but got in such a pickle I gave up........so its got no base but by the time I'd wrapped the cello round it, it held it altogether

If she is a small 12 then her feet might not be too big maybe a 3/4 if she is tall then her feet would be more a 5/6 maybe bigger, hope this helps, my ds is 15 and has size 8.5 feet  . But then my other ds who is 12 has dinky size 3 feet (takes after his dad lol). could you not have a look at her feet size the next time you see her and compare them to your feet iuswim?
