    Hi All!

Still can't decide about a wrapping or not for them (I'm selling them for a school fete) the OH says not to bother but I'm worried about them getting dirty if not. Opinions folks?

they look really great Siren - I'm now thinking of re-doing mine :D

Personally, I think left open would allow people to see them better on the stall - if they then want to give them as presents, you could give them tips on how to wrap them :)

    Afternoon!

I need to pick your brains. I bought a pack of socks in Primark today to make some cupcakes for the school sale but on the way home was thinking that as they're ice cream sort of colours thought they might look better as ice cream tubs but can't think of anything to use as a "flake" to make 99s.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance x

Paddingtondoo have you seen this post from Nessa (on the Finished baskets thread)

Forgive me, but I am a thinker as opposed to a doer when it comes to craft projects :o But I had the following ideas about wrapping things like the reindeer....

    1) Cut squares of cardboard to sit them on first to give a 'solid' edge to work with, particularly with cello.
    2) Make up little dolly bags from offcuts of fine material like organza or even chiffon scarves from charity shops
    3) How difficult would it be  to make up bags from cello to pop them into, or little gift bags from seasonal wrapping paper?

I think too, if you are going to wrap these wonderful creations, it would be an idea to leave one or two 'open' so folk can see them in all their glory if you're selling them at craft fayres etc.

Just my suggestions....I'll slither back under my stone now & leave you to it :o

    great ideas mummaf especially as
    the likes of chiffon,organza are
quite cheap to buy and are often
60 inches width so even just half
a metre would go a long way.

just a thought if you are giving any of the
cupcakes as a gift to anyone who enjoys
sewing. You could always give it as a
cupcake pin cushion.I use one as a pin
cushion myself and its proved really handy
mines just a white flannel with those long
pins in with pearly tops on.there is a pic of
one like it on the front page.

Hello all, I've spent hours (days?!) reading all these threads and can't wait to try some cup cakes, hampers and reindeer, both for Christmas and for school fair. Thank you all for being so helpful with your ideas, your sources for the materials and instructions - I hope I can do it all some justice.

One thing I've not found so far is how to make home made bath salts? Ikea jars, and lemon or lavendar oil, but what else? Epsom salts maybe? And how do you add the oil to the salts? We've got a £5 and £10 limit on our respective family's presents this year, and I can't bear the idea of just buying a bottle of wine! These ideas are so great, they really show the thought put into them.

I hope to be joining your efforts soon!

Hi Rusty when I did my first batch all the noses fell off and that was using sticky dots so I invested in a glue gun (woolies £4) and they work a treat. hth

I used my OH's PVA glue and all the bits have stayed stuck on. The only thing I have that falls off is the antlers as they are just tucked in. :D
