in the kids craft section this ripple machine
I have had a little practice and thought it
would look good to use on the cup cakes
as cases especially in the metalic card
wrapped round each one.
it only cost £2 and you get cards &
practice papers with it.

Rosekitten - ooooo, hall of fame, how nice :cheesy: tq
Astrocat - Thank youIts from a template I made myself. I print a pattern on card or photopaper, then print the template over it. Also means I can make it smaller or bigger as I need to.
Heres the template if anyone wants to use it
If I have more time I photoshop a design onto the template such as this one for xmas
The area left white is used to make tabs. I cut along the inside line on the circles, then slide one inside the cup until it gets to the tabs which makes it a nice circular cup, then stick the other circle piece on the bottom to make it nice and neat. You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -

I got one of these a few years ago from The Early Learning Centre - they may still do them.
We have had no end of fun with them. I remember the children made a toy farm - barn, pig-styes & chicken shedsalso used white card and cut the top in a zig-zag fashion so it looked like a picket fence, also used green card, cut into strips after being rippled and again zig-zagged tops and that was grass
Oh those were the days
I think they used to cut flower shapes from it and stick them onto the front of cards fro notelets and it's great for Christmas tree shapes too ;D0 -
Hi All!
Just made up my first flannel reindeer! It was so much easier than I thought! I haven't got any ribbon to tie round the ears but other than that he is done!
Just one question, anyone know the best way to package these? I'm planning on selling them you see and so need something to present them in! Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -
Afternoon!
I need to pick your brains. I bought a pack of socks in Primark today to make some cupcakes for the school sale but on the way home was thinking that as they're ice cream sort of colours thought they might look better as ice cream tubs but can't think of anything to use as a "flake" to make 99s.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance xOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

what about a brown flannel
hmm might be a bit big though0 -
sylphraven - lovely cakes and thanks for putting the template on
paddington - if you can get any brown pip cleaners maybe a few of them either glued together of twisted in some way might do the trick. If you haven't got any brown ones try soaking them in strong coffee (or red wine, can't remember who told me that)Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

would it make it too expensive to just use a flake? *** OOH - just re-read this and it sounds as though I'm being sarcastic, I'm not, honest***
sometimes you see those plastic sundae dishes that are marked like ice-cream cornets (although probably more in summer). But if your socks go well at school, it may be something to look out for if you have a summer fair.0 -

Had thought of getting the smaller ones and then eating the restbut was worried about getting the chocolate on the socks. Will try wrapping it in cello or cling film maybe.
Will have a good look round when I go shopping.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

you could use the individual flake bars although that would bump up the price a lot. I think the ones you get for ice-cream in a Flake box may be wrapped - I think they used to be but may not now, of course. But cling film would be good - but eating the others, even better0
