does anyone know how I can make flannel cakes?

I have discovered that if you get a decent sized needle and some brown thread you can pull a length of cotton (matching colour) through and it seems to hold the flannels nicely. I put one through and then back in again at the middle and one at each end. (sorry if my explanation is rubbish!!) It also means that whoever gets the yule log as a prezzie can just pull the thread through and it doesnt damage the flannels. The only problem with it is if you have any difficulty using your hands as it can be a little tough to push through. Hope this helps xxxxxxx0

thanks Smosmo - might try that on one and see how I get on. I've got a good size needle but not that big that it'll make a hole in the flannel...........lol
Just need some brown cotton now...............why is it I've never got the stuff I need to finish something off ?? Is it just me ?Mary

Candy - they look fab, were they easy to make?? They look good enough to eat!
Thanks Angie100, I can assure you I rolled, re-rolled, and re-rolled again and again and again and more ..... believe me, they are not rolled perfectly, but the handmade labels cover 'a multiple of sins' lol :rotfl:A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
I posted this link on the nappy cake thread but I think it is more appropriate on here as it's made up of flannels and towels

I just got back from my holiday and whilst in Broadstairs I saw a flannel cupcake and it was in an ordinary cupcase wrapped around like an eclair wrapper and it had ribbons round the edge with happy birthday and your special and on top they had used sweets, love hearts, really pretty and unfortunately I had forgotten my camera that dayPucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0
